No lift to or help for heavy luggage. Lumpy bed. No non-slip bath/shower mat.
It was very clean and the room was amazing, staff were helpful as they let me check in very early. My girlfriend loved it!
The downstairs decor was very nice, looked as if it had been recently decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The downstairs was cold, everyone had jackets on in the bar, the room was filthy and freezing. The windows were rotting wood, dampness in the bathroom, huge gaps at the bottom of the doors you could fit a hand through, carpet was filthy, the floor had a literal dip in the middle, floor boards were uneven and squeaked when you walked on them. The bathroom floor was filthy. Rotting wood in the bathroom, the room was that cold we asked for an extra heater which couldn't be provided. We were offered to move room but they were all the same so we checked out after one day, paid £222.00 to sleep one night in freezing, filthy conditions.
Location was great as were staff ,a good breakfast to.
I was in a room 101 next to a2 storecupboards, heater was on all the time but didn’t heat the room , the room was directly on top of bar loud music until 1am had to go & ask for another room at midnight ,’felt the party was in room’
Clean & good space in room
Double glazing on windows would have kept out light, cold & constant traffic noise. Installing a lift would make access to top floor easier.
Pleasant
Had to move to a room with a bath which did not work. water drained continuously and water warm not hot.
The resteraunt and staff were good
The rooms are very basic, really uncomfortable like laying on floor ( probably comfier), cold , heating is fixed and can't be changed, single glazed so can hear noise all night. Doors don't automatically lock like most places. Very poor on plug sockets
Just a place to stay. The bath with jest was nice.
Sash windows, which didn’t block the outside noise at all (Saturday night). Very load drunken crowds until 1am, with heavy traffic and horns blazing, interspersed with emergency vehicle sirens. Absolutely avoid any rooms on the main road side.
Location is good
Needs a refurbishment. Room smelt of smoke and is dingy
heating was good.
swipe card for entry into hotel area was playing up...NOISE was atrocious because of Friday night PUB singing etc NO SLEEP TILL 3 AM - had a Sat conference at 9 am -- NOT GOOD
I would not stay here...
The 'hotel' is a pub. The pub turns into a night club with the rooms directly above! The rooms were very very tired with a futon type bed mattress.
The rooms are above a pub which looks really nice and cozy. The rooms are simple but nice and clean
The weather was very good when I stayed which might have contributed to the fact that the room was cold and the bathroom was really cold. That is my only grievance with the place
The bed was extremely comfy
The carpet was really dirty. The ceiling had all stains and wallpaper coming off. It looked like part of the ceiling was going to fall down and the shower did not get hot and was a very slow flow
Bar area and breakfast very good
Bedroom was a little on the cold side
Clean, spacious room and nice bar and restaurant downstairs. Staff friendly and bed sufficiently comfortable. Live music on weekend nights. Large free carpark. In a great location in Sutton Coldfield near food, shopping and entertainment aswel as near the train station with access to Birmingham City centre in around 15mins.
Guest WiFi didnt work. When asking about this the problem was laughed off by staff and we were told "its playing up" no help or solution was offered. Bedroom was cold due to old period windows which dont fit the frames and the small heater in the room was disabled. After no help with WiFi we didnt feel it worth asking about this and just wrapped up for bed. Its also worth noting that the sound from the downstairs bar can be heard in the bedrooms so may not be a good place if a peaceful early night is what you need.
Location fantastic. We asked for a quietish room & we were upgraded for no extra charge. Room was spacious.
Creaky floorboards. Fine for us but but felt sorry for anyone below.
Noises room, right on the high street. Room was cold, radiators didn’t work. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Towels and bed were dirty. Avoid this place at all costs!
