    Pros +

    • Me and my friend felt racially abused when checking in by other guests
    • Clean and comfortable nice decor and had a bath and shower in my room. The bed was spacious and very comfy and there was not much noise considering central location and opposite the train station. Lots of food outlets and massive shopping centres.I will definitely book again.
    • Great location and luckily there is parking in the China Town carpark for £8.60 for 24 hours which is much better than other car parks. Car parking is very expensive around this area! Staff were helpful and polite.

    Cons -

    • i didnt like anything
    • Not keen on the lift but that's just me so had to use the stairs up to the third floor
    • Decor is dated but clean

The fact that I'm paying to stay in a hotel that homeless are getting for Free what an absolute joke of a place making people pay to stay here when when u have addicts staying here for free is absolutely a joke when ur charging people too can't even get back in the building with out buzzing absolutely appalled

Smooth and fast check in. Lift to floors. Room was tired and basic but seemed clean

Room was very warm so had to open the window, this meant it was a bit noisy. There's no breakfast facilities but easy to find at the nearby train station

    7MichaelPosted on: 5-26-2025

    Good location for train travel.

Hard to find at first then conveniently located to the station.

Staff were quick on sorting issues out and were exceptional with service

Loud music till 10:15pm when tried sleeping

The room was clean and spacious. Good towel provision.

Minute lift; I walked up the three flights. The bathroom door was large and slightly awkward to get into (being near the entry door); also the bathroom was a bit tired and had no surfaces or hooks. Each of the two beds had only one pillow. The sash windows could be opened but would not stay open.

    Cheap for one night.

Barely got any sleep, there was constant noise coming from the street outside, with the single glazed window not stopping any sound. People walking up and down the corridor, doors slamming. Then housekeeping making noise at the crack of dawn. Also, the "cold" water tap just runs warm, even after running it for 5 minutes, so ended up drinking warm water. Bed sheets were covered in small hairs.

I booked a single room and got an upgrade to a double for free. Good size room and bathroom. The room was spotless, had a full length bath with shower and sink. Had about 10 hangers. It is located right next to New Street station. The staff were lovely. It was cheap so I expected it to be dated and it is. For a great location, comfort and price I was happy.

I didn't mind but the lift is small and it's a cage one where you need to close the inner door yourself. Some might not be keen. The hotel were great but trying to get an Uber was a nightmare because although they park outside the hotel, if you order one from the hotel the Uber app makes you go to the Drop and Go tunnel in the station. So if you intend getting Ubers, be aware of that too.

    None. I

The staff not helpful. No staff at the reception. The room was not all that clean. The toilet had splashes of urine on the seat. I did not stay at that hotel. I had to leave that night.

Cheap and right next door to New Street.

A bit basic and it has seen better days.

    6JudithPosted on: 4-17-2025

Located next to Birmingham New Street station Staff friendly

The room was cold No heating The hotel appears to be quite run down Not very comfortable really

Had a single room that smelt a little of cigarettes so the value for money wasn’t great BUT great location, lovely staff and I slept all night - really good nights sleep

    7CarlPosted on: 4-13-2025

Location. Close to both the train station and the venue I was attending. Spacious room. Always nice to have a choice between a bath and shower.

TV remote didn't work. Probably needed new batteries. Never enough milk, coffee etc. enough for two cups only is never enough.

    4ZakPosted on: 4-11-2025

Location super central. Car parks extremely close.

I was on the top floor (third). Could hear nearly all movements from neighbour. Phone calls, coughing, light switches. Woken at 1am and could hear snoring through the walls. Sash window single pane. Could hear people talking from the street 3 floors below. Lots of screaming and shouting from nearby venues. Window has no limiters and opens fully so not safe for children.

    3KirstynPosted on: 4-11-2025

First room had been smoked in and there were cigarette butts outside the window. The tv didn’t work as an aside.

    7DenisePosted on: 4-9-2025

Lots of screaming outside and noise and banging from room above

    8FionaPosted on: 4-6-2025

The room was extremely clean with new carpet. The bar could do with the tables being cleaned but the hotel itself was fine. Excellent location and friendly staff

There was occasional late night noise on the road outside but nothing horrendous.

The Comfort Inn is a fantastically placed budget option, but with a terrifying and aged elevator, small beds and bathrooms with some visible dirt and damage you're definitely getting what you pay for. It's perfect as a base to get to the NEC, which was my use case, but I wouldn't want to spend extended time there.
