    Pros +

    • Orange juice Weebrix cereal, butter is ok. In location not far from hotel to Aston train station easily walking only 5-10. Staffs were nice people. I like the bedroom style that looks like a Victorian building
    • Beautiful hotel, quirky and full of character. Clean with modern fittings, only downside was poor WiFi.
    • Design, bathroom, amenities, breakfast.

    Cons -

    • I don't like the breakfast because the smoked salmon was raw, The scrambled eggs were not cooked properly and the teapot and baked beans were not hot enough. When I asked them, I said, I would like a beef sausage for breakfast but they still did not offer me beef sausage. I’m in disappointed because the bedroom was too dark and tea cup is small, In the bedroom, and there was no mini-fridge or wardrobe with drawers. When I was sitting at the table to eat breakfast they served the tea, I found the cup dirty; clearly, they do not wash up properly. Also, and at upstairs in the hall, keep the lighting off as well. The problem is that the bedroom doors are not locked properly. There is a problem: they don't give me the outside keys. I asked, 'How can I get in when I get back? and they said I have to text them, or I can press the button to open the door.
    • Heater was less powerful to beat the cold during the night. All else was perfect.
    • The only minor thing is that food was not available in the evening.

I liked the cleanliness and the friendliness of all the staff. Always a service with a smile and ready to help.

The only minor thing is that food was not available in the evening.

Very quirky! Comfortable beds, clean rooms and great breakfast

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and comfortable for a family of four. The car park was secure. In addition, only walking distance to Villa Park football.

    Stressed out!

The property did not have my booking despite I have got all the booking done and confirmed on Booking.com. I had to look for another hotel in a very last minutes!

The service was outstanding, especially the man at reception. He waited for us at 2:00 in the morning and allowed us to check out late at 12:00 in the evening. His service made us feel like we were at home. It was one of the best experiences I've had in the service industry

    Nothing much.

Tony was amazing and came to guide me in as the road was closed and I am not familiar with Birmingham

Not being able to get an evening meal

Extremely comfy bed - had a lovely sleep. Exceptionally clean throughout. Very hearty and tasty breakfast.

The tavern is amazing. It's victorian decor is beautiful. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable. Even though there was a power cut, the staff were brilliant at making sure we still got our very tasty breakfast. It is a truly fantastic place to stay.

Staff were friendly & accomodating. The rooms are gorgeous

Lack of air conditioning. But windows open and a fan was provided. After the event I attended at aston park returning to the hotel, the bar was overly busy. If I had known I would have pre ordered a drink

Easy to find, friendly greeting. The maintenance man that met me on the car park couldn’t have been more helpful.Beautiful room, reliable Internet, nice breakfast.

There is long term construction work to the busy road bridge outside my bedroom window. That was ok during the day but once dark there were bright spotlights and an on/off throbbing noise all night (generator?) I appreciate that the owner is not responsible for the work but that room isn’t usable under those circumstances. I think there was only one other guest, so other rooms were available. I had a dreadful nights sleep, but by the time I knew that it was the middle of the night and too late to do anything about it.Booking.com listing isn’t detailed enough or inaccurate: no mini bar in my room, couldn’t access sky tv, also , there’s mention of a restaurant but no indication that they don’t serve food in the evening.

Vintage and well maintained - lots to look at and plenty of space.Staff and owner very personable - will stay again if up that way

    8DianaPosted on: 5-20-2024

Historical, but would have liked a lift and on site dinner.

    No dinner

    5GaryPosted on: 5-19-2024

    poor value for money.

location, pricing, bar , no wifi in rooms, rooms very VERY small, no working desk

    9StewartPosted on: 5-16-2024

Friendly staff. Great period decor even though it was a complete renovation in the last 10 years. Keeps the authentic "peaky blinder" feel. Fantastic location for Villa Park.Would definitely stay again. Despite being directly below an overpass, noise was not an issue.

Notice going on locally apart from drinking in the pub itself. Any restaurants or things to do all require a short drive

    8DuncanPosted on: 5-13-2024

Perfect location for match day at Villa Park. Some nice touches in the rooms. Easy to get to the train station to go to the Bull Ring etc. Breakfast was really good.

was very quiet in terms of guests so the pub was only opened if we needed it. only one other family staying.Rooms were oldy-woldy but great to see and experience.

Lovely character about the place, made to feel very welcome on arrival and during my stay. Breakfast was amazing even at 715am !!! Room was very clean, slept so well even though I had to take a leap up onto the high bed.

Top Breakfast and great Location for the Football !
