    Pros +

    • Comfortable room and beds. I liked the grandeur of the building and how this had been sensitively retained. The reasonably priced and handy parking outside
    • The hotel was ideally located, access to trams and buses. Check in was quick and way, staff were helpful. The superior room was spacious and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast was good.
    • Great location outside of the clean air zone but walking distance to city centre entertainment

    Cons -

    • There were a lot of forms to fill in at check in which could have been handled better pre check in. There seemed to have been bad experiences with dogs staying at the hotel and I had to pay a rather hefty fee of £30 and sign a form to say that I would cover any possible damage caused by my dog. This seemed rather heavy handed. The alternative may be to let dogs into the restaurant (or an area of this) so dog owners don’t have to leave the dog in the hotel room to eat there. Seems strange that they would not want to encourage guests with dogs to eat at the hotel and the disclaimer certainly does not make you feel welcome.
    • Didn’t realise there wasn’t a pool or spa but that didn’t spoil the stay
    • To be honest the bar was soulless, but there are plenty of options close by

    7TaniaPosted on: 2-12-2026

The room was nice and clean and bed comfy.

The breakfast was poor with no choice for vegetarian ? Only rubber egg, toast and fruit. No sausage or false bacon etc.

    Location

Rooms was poor, old and dated. Heating didn’t work, kept coming with a fault and had to keep resetting the aircon unit. Beds was like sleeping on plastic including the pillows.

    Clean, professional and helpful

There was an assault right out side involving 2 guests who had been smoking week which you could smell in the elevators. My quality of stay was not very pleasant due to this.

    Nothing!

Very nice position, everything very close. Central without the fuss.

Very cold rooms, the windows weren't double glazed, the heating very poor. Had to ask for extra 2 heating devices. The bathroom didn't have any heating device, had to have the door openall the time to have some temperature. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. Very poor breakfast and cold. The mattress was very bad and they've put some addition to make it a little better. Nit very successful. In general I was very disappointed. It wasn't my first time at this hotel. It will be the last though.

Good locationFriendly bar staffResponses online pre-stay were quick

Advertise as pet-friendly however your policies don’t live up to this. You welcome well behaved dogs to stay, however they can’t go anywhere but the bedroom. Therefore we had to eat separately as a family at breakfast. Not good enough!
