    Pros +

    • The room was styled absolutely amazingly. I would rather stay at a Boutique hotel than a chain because of the charm of boutique hotels. Attention to detail with tea and coffee was lovely.
    • Great location. Fab staff. Gorgeous decor
    • Enjoyed the creative design of the room - we had Babylon. Loved the bath in the room and most of all the quality of the beds and bed linen was top notch - we had a very comfortable night. The restaurant provided wonderful tasty dishes.

    Cons -

    • I will continue to praise this hotel, but I do need to put a disclaimer about the stairs when going to the rooms in the loft/attic area. The stairs are narrow and steep. One who has any physical limitations should be aware and advised. Lastly, we had the radiator fully open (5-level), but it wasn't until around 1800 hours that the boiler was turned on and the heat began to warm the room. It was very cold in the room prior to the heat being turned on.
    • An extra chair in the room would have been a bonus.
    • Not much to say here… there wasn’t really anything we didn’t like. I suppose, it’s important to note that it’s a period property, so be aware that there are stairs and no lift. And, as an older building, there is character and a little movement etc. but it’s lovely, spacious, charismatic and a great place to stay. Modern meets artistic.

Shower faulty, electric current running through overflowing shower.

Wow. What an incredible stay. The property only has a few rooms, and they are all themed differently. The space in the rooms is wonderful and the roll top bath in the room was perfect for a relaxing night in. The on site restaurant was also fabulous. Above all, the staff were all welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for our comfort. The onsite parking was great for arriving by car.

Excellent service, decor and friendly efficient staff. Would definitely stay again

Only reason not 100% is would have been better if had gym facilities

The room was great, and had some lovely little bonus' like chocolates in the room etc. Had some food at the restaurant that was really nice. Lovely amenities in the room. Bed was huge and comfortable. Staff were really friendly and welcoming.

There are no staff on site on a night. There was a panic button outside the room that a member of staff showed me when showing me the room. And just overall knowing this, I had a bad nights sleep. Also you can hear any noise from the corridor of people arriving back quite loudly, doors slamming etc. So yeah overall had a really bad nights sleep.

As a solo travelling woman who didn't know the city, and after a quite unsettling stay somewhere else recently, this was a safe, quiet oasis. Staff welcoming and helpful, room quiet and comfortable, and more luxurious than I expected for the price. Most importantly felt safe, in the area as well as the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing really, maybe more breakfast options for lighter appetites, though what is offered is amazing.

Little gem of a hotel - beautiful boutique hotel , exceptional value , great staff - wonderful customer service especially Florian . Wonderful Persian menu, and gorgeous food - but could do with some non Persian options for breakfast .

We were very badly let down by the fact that the person who checked us in (initially I had to go and find him as he was sat in a side room on his phone and didn’t see us waiting) gave us the wrong code for the front door and so when coming home after dinner and dancing at 2am we could not get in. We ended up having to push the front door REALLY HARD and miraculously we got in. No one answered any messages and calls for help as not one member of staff stays overnight onsite (which again is worrying). Booking.com were not helpful either. It was a really scary experience and when trying to speak to someone at the Hotel in the morning about it there STILL wasn’t anyone on reception or answering the phone! Booking.comrefunded us in the morning and we left really shook up and upset the following morning. Personally its a lesson for me to never book a Hotel where it is not manned overnight. It wasn’t us being stupid. We know how to put a code in. The code did not work. Shocking and very very unnerving.

Nice hotel with beautiful rooms not too far from the city centre.

Lack of soundproofing. The bed was next to the door and could hear every single thing that was happening in the hallway. A nearby room was playing music and it was so loud it sounded like a rave. The teacups are so small they’re more like espresso glasses. Should include decent sized mugs in each room.

The accommodation is delightfully quirky in that the décor is different from the norm. The restaurant will indicate why with a strong Persian influence although the cuisine takes you around the world. Definitely worth a visit or sample of their multi taster menu. Staff were friendly and accommodating. If you're after something different with a touch of class, treat yourself.

Baloci is a treat. Myself and my wife stayed over at Baloci for her 31st birthday, we had afternoon tea, the tasting menu and stayed in the "Persia" room. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the food being served and the local area. The food was excellent (I could have eaten a bucket of the butter chicken sauce) and the room was fantastical and beautifully decorated whilst being exceptionally clean. At the very end of the stay we did have an issue with the shower in the room not draining quickly enough, so we had to have a bath instead. The fact I still give this place a 10 despite that should tell you everything.Keep it up Baloci, we'll be back!

Outstanding small hotel. Very friendly staff and very proud of their lovely hotel. Beautifully decorated individually designed rooms. Stunning restaurant. Fantastic food. Tasting menu was fabulous. Serving staff very knowledgeable and did a superb job.

Stunning hotel room. Very clean and tidy. Loved our stay here. Great location with a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Not so much a dislike but by the time I went to have a bath at the end of the day the water was cold so unable to enjoy, but dispite that, the bath water in the morning was hot again so got to enjoy a bath watching the tv.

Really great hotel, restaurant and bar. We used to stay here when it was the Edgbaston hotel which we loved, but Baloci have really taken it up a notch. Beautiful decor, very well equipped and unique rooms, friendly and accommodating staff. Food was gorgeous, cocktails are well made and delicious. The attention to detail is first rate. Secure gated parking at the rear of the building.

I can't think of anything we didn't like.

The ambiance and decor was lovely. The bed was super comfy.

During my stay, I encountered several issues that affected my experience:•Noise Disturbance: I was disturbed by noise from the hallway, including footsteps and movement from guests in the room above. Additionally, traffic noise in the morning disrupted my sleep.•Bathroom Sink: The sink plug was stuck at a certain height, causing the water to drain very slowly.•Bathtub Leak: Using the handheld shower in the bathtub resulted in a significant leak, creating a large puddle on the floor, which posed a slipping hazard.

On arrival I called reception and a very polite and courteous young man helped me into the building and up to my room. He gave me a tour and showed me where to find everything, offering to help with anything required which was kind. The room was absolutely beautiful, clean and well presented. I will add the room was incredibly hot and I found it difficult to regulate the temperature, that may just be me and my preferences however. Marco Polo is a dimly lit room, that’s the style of it, be prepared for it to look similar in the daylight. The staff were excellent, I am looking forward to returning. 10/10
