    Pros +

    • The building was beautiful and the rooms were decorated beautifully.
    • Lovely bedrooms (simple but beautiful) and kind staff, excellent breakfast.
    • The room had a nice decor and the breakfast was very good

    Cons -

    • The hotel is a listed buildings so it’s the original windows, which made the bedrooms so cold. The bathroom window had a crack in the wood and you can feel the wind come in. You travel to hotels like this for luxury however I would have been more comfortable at home. There was no management around, no one asked at check out how was everything, they just took the key so there was never an opportunity to say it to anyone. Breakfast took 45mins to come out, it’s like they could only do one at a time. So it was an hour of our morning gone just waiting. Also just small things like the cookies in the room they gave in the jar were so stale. The decorative pillows and throws just felt old, I just didn’t feel comfortable.
    • The only reason I’m not giving it better scores is because of the terrible sound insulation which stops it being good value for money. The rooms are on a busy road with buses and lorries and it was hard to get back to sleep after the bin men came between 4-5am. Need much better sound insulation.
    • We booked our room thinking it has a bathtub because of the images but it turned out there photos were misleading and it had a shower. The staff blamed booking.com for this but their website has the exact same images…There was no conditioner in the room and when we called they said they didn’t have any. It later turned out they did have some but it was too late by then. Also our shower didn’t drain properly which flooded the bathroom after a 5 min shower The room was also super noisy because of the pub at night but also loud music at 8am! We wouldn’t stay again

I booked this because I was doing a bakery course round the corner but I am so glad I did. Staff were all lovely and helpful. I couldn't make the dinner I had booked already and so popped down to the pub next door (attached to the townhouse) and they were so accommodating with my meal. The room was spacious and comfy with nice little touches like biccies in a jar and a really nice selection of teas. The bathroom was stunning too- lovely and cosy. Breakfast was yummy and served in the lovely cafe downstairs. Perfect stay and I will stay again the next time I'm in Bath.

I have nothing bad to say from my perspective but if you have mobility issues then this might not be the place for you. The stairs to the top rooms are steep.

Fantastic room, friendly staff and great breakfast. Good value for money.

Great location, staff were very helpful and room was spacious and comfortable.

Steep stairs, staff took our bags up which was very helpful

Absolutely a great find .We parked at the podium next door and location central in the city.Room was great and staff and food amazing ! The young lady serving breakfast was really polite and nothing was too much to ask. She is a credit to the venue.only small thing which could improve is the room was a little drafty and cold by the window . Other than that we would love to return ! A lovely two night stay in the city !

    Nothing it was great

Friendly, helpful people making our stay easy. Delicious breakfasts. Great location. Quirky entrance developed into feeling very much at home. Recommended.

Hopeless bedside lights. No good for reading!

The room was gorgeous. Beautiful decor and very comfortable. Fantastic location for walking around the city. Parking was easy in the underground 24 hr car park just a few minutes walk away. Good breakfast choices too.

The little attached cafe where we had breakfast was freezing! It was cold weather outside but it was pretty uncomfortable inside as well. We sat in thick jumpers with further woolies wrapped round our knees! Apparently the heating was on but it didn’t feel like it!

This quaint property exceeded my expectation, especially in value for money. It was well located, the room was neat and clean, with all basic requirements. Lovely bathroom amenities too, which can actually be used (not like some of the very entry level toiletries the big hotel chains provide). Breakfast was amazing too (a proper coffee and delicious meal). I loved the decor and charm of the property.

The road can be a little noisy in the morning, but earplugs are provided (which I didn't need, as I am an early riser)

    Room decor and breakfast great

Room smaller than expected. No reception. Automated booking confirmation rather than replying to my query

    9DiPosted on: 1-26-2026

Perfectly situated in the heart of the cityLoved the incredible selection at breakfast

We were in Room 3 which had the double bed ip against the window. The window rattled and was quite draughty. I resorted to putting a pillow against the bottom of the window at night to block out the draughtThere was also limited room to sit in the room - so one person Sat on the bed, and one on the pouffe

Beautiful place, great breakfast and excellent location. Comfortable bed

Steep stairs, keep it in mind if you have a big luggage to carry. If you don't like to walk on the carpet barefoot for hygiene, bring slippers.

    8AndrewPosted on: 1-25-2026

Everything that’s needed was there. Great breakfast too.

No central heating. Had to adjust the radiator during day and night.

    10ChristoffelPosted on: 1-25-2026

Lovely rooms with character and attention to detail. Coffee station had a good selection of quality teas as well as ground coffee and a 2 cup cafeteire. Got given fresh milk from reception so no small packets of cheap coffee or pods of uht milk. These little things say a lot about a place and their values. Funky art in rooms and hallways. Brilliant breakfast the following morning. All round value for money and location is nice and central. Would stay again

    Nothing to report

Great staff, very comfortable bed, lovely touches e.g. ear plugs and radio. Breakfast was very generous and delicious.

Some noise from road traffic but to be expected as in such a central location

Cost, comfortable and a great location. Nice breakfast.

    9ChristinaPosted on: 1-16-2026

Cute and sophisticated boutique hotel in the town center of Bath only a few minutes from the Roman Baths. Staff was kind enough to upgrade my room to a higher floor due to a wild and noisy birthday party spilling into the hallway of my original room. The area of town is a little noisy, but the hotel provides ear plugs. Breakfast is home cooked but sophisticated. Rooms have a very romantic feel and allow for a very comfortable stay. The reception and cleaning staff are very friendly and care about their guests’ experience.

It’s an old building that lacks insulation so shower steam tends to linger.

Great staff. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, good location. Great breakfast.

A little street noise but worth it for the Great location.

I really enjoyed my stay at Broad Street Townhouse! The receptionist was lovely, and even carried my bags up the stairs for me. The room was lovely, lots of room, clean, and nicely decorated, with good amenities. The staff were very accommodating, and I had no issues during my stay. And I forgot that breakfast was included, which was a nice suprise! Would stay here again next time I'm in Bath!

The only downside was that the walls were thin and I could hear a couple quite loudly who were staying in the room across from mine. But that was only a minor inconvenience.
