Pros +
- Room needed bit of tlc but was very clean and staff amazing
- Good location and good sized rooms - very supportive staff - they had a problem with overbooking of the hotel - staff worked hard and found solution that worked for us. Very good food for dinner and breakfast + chef even agreed to serve breakfast very early on Sunday for our group as we needed to leave for a sport event; plenty of parking spaces.
- The guy running it was superb. Friendly. Helpful. The room had been recently redecorated. The bathroom looked like it needed a bit more work. Breakfast was superb. I turned up quite late (around 9pm) so they'd stopped serving food. However I was given info on local takeaways so I could grab something.
Cons -
- the rooms we got were quite in need of overall renovation - although to be fair - bed was clean, room warm and shower was working with hot water.
- Only that it had no aircon. This wasn't a problem that particular night as it wasn't too warm with the window wide open. However on a hotter night I couldn't have stayed at the hotel.
- Needs a spruce up

Large room good parking
Needs a spruce up
Martin and his team were very welcoming and very attentive to my young daughter. Excellent service and everyone was so friendly. A great hotel.
The hotel is being redecorated so the strong smell of paint can be a little annoying
Under new ownership, being refurbished. Stayed there for work, would stay again. Staff lovely, food fantastic.
No expected so refurbishing to be happening
Although above a pub there was no noise at all, which was a very pleasant surprise. The room was very good value for money & I received a lovely warm welcome. My room was clean but the decor rather tired (though the new manager only took over a few weeks ago), huge room with equally large bathroom including a bath, well supplied with tea/coffee & toiletries, lovely fluffy towels, humongous comfy bed. Convenient onsite parking. Ideal for a stay to visit Bath as is only a 25 minute drive away without needing to pay Bath Hotel prices. Although breakfast was available, at a reasonable extra charge, I didn't opt for this, though a good choice was advertised.
Very little - like I said, the decor is tired with some obvious paint damage on the ceiling of my room from a previous leak. But this didn't detract from a great night's sleep.
The room was huge clean and more than enough coffee tea milk etc also I asked for early check in and they couldn't be more helpful very happy with my stay and service thank you
Excellent service, arrived as strangers left feeling as tho we'd know the team for years. So welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Food menu had a very good choice of freshly cooked delicious meals highly recommend the chicken curry & the full English breakfast. Generous portions and locally produced ingredients. Rooms are very spacious comfortable and clean lovely soft towels rooms also included shower gel and shampoo not forgetting tea and coffee making facilities. Beds are very comfortable. Very good value for money. Will definitely return.
So, we were very aware when we booked that other reviewers had said it was a bit “tired” and in need of work, but that is exactly what they are doing. My son and I were in an older room, which they gave us as it was bigger, which was very kind, but it was def in need of some love, my parents were in one of the rooms which had been done up already and it was nice. So once it’s done, it will be really good. The location was good for Longleat safari park and the price was very affordable. The staff were super lovely, really warm and welcoming, the food was genuinely really good and the menu changed depending on the day.
It was still undergoing work so some rooms were better than others. A bit of noise from the pub and the walls are quite thin, you can hear your neighbors around you, talking and walking around. But I had earplugs so it was ok!
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable.
No reception, just approach the bar staff to check in. Maybe a note when booking that that is the way you check in
Great friendly staff. Different people in the hotel than was in there last time we visited. The hotel has been refurbished inside, bringing it more up to date and we were told that the outside was to be tidied up a bit as well. The prices inside the pub was really good value.
I had been working in Kent on the first of April and had more work in Radstock for the next 2 days. Martin was waiting for me to arrive at the hotel after midnight. When I rang his number then my mobile battery died. He tried to call my number but no answer as mobile had turned itself off. I had given up by then. I was relieved when a man came tapping my car window with a smile introducing himself. He helped me carry my suitcase to the room. I was very grateful and very impressed by his attitude and the single room was clean, cosy and warm, water was also hot. Car parking was readily available and free. In the past have had to sleep in my car as check in time was up no one would be present at the property. I. have been treated rudely, denied the accommodation and my money forfeited by the owner but did not know who to turn to. These were private bookings in Devon.I really appreciate Radstock Hotel's gesture of kibdness abd commitment. .
No negatives on this occasion.
Absolutely fantastic service from the staff. Very accommodating. Beautiful food. Great for a stay in a lovely town
We’ve stayed quite a few times but this time was probably our last! The WiFi didn’t work the tv wouldn’t work as it need to be connected to the WiFi and an app on your phone I think ….
The hotel was near where I needed to be for work, and I loved that the Greenway was right by it for evening walks after my busy days. The new manager was very friendly and helpful, and explained that the hotel is a bit 'tired' but that it's working on that!
The manager was correct that the hotel is quite 'tired' – worn paintwork/carpets, a few stains on my bedhead/carpet/stool etc. The pillows were very thin, which made it a bit uncomfortable sitting on the bed watching TV; I went into the bar to ask for an extra pillow or a cushion, but there was a queue at the bar so I felt that the barman already had enough things to deal with! The room was small, which was fine by me, but a small chair (perhaps beside the bed) would have been very handy as an extra surface to sit on/put things on! The hotel was cheap and cheerful, which suits me fine; I plan to stay there again when I'm in the area in a couple of months' time, and look forward to seeing the standard of the hotel rise as work is done on it.
Excellent staff. Really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
Rooms need updating but it it something that they are working on.
Friendly staff , having refurbishment at the moment, what they have done is nice so far. The room was comfortable and big out dated but when refurbished it will be lovely. Great for getting to Bath and Bristol airport.
Room was clean enough.
Very warm, very loud and the bar didn’t feel very welcoming in regards to the patrons. The staff were great though.
This hotel is going through a refurbishment and you can already see the improvements that have been made. Once it is completed it will be exceptional l. The Bar area is lovely and very friendly.
The room was warm and comftable but is waiting for refurbishment.
