Very close to train station. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast.
Very central and comfortable

Location
Cleanliness was shocking, our room was very mouldy, the black mould around the windows, in the bathroom and up the wall next to the bed. We had cracked windows x 3 and the kettle for drinks in the room was filthy. Breakfast was not great either, we had the full cooked breakfast which was served cold with mashed beans and they forgot our toast!
Staff excellentFood delicious
Room depressing Grey stained carpetGrey wallsGrey chair, badly stained & (in my opinion ) ready for the tipFurniture badly chipped. However, sheets were pristine and the bed very comfy
breakfast very good. Room small. Bed small. Location ideal because we travelled to Bath by train.
We're used to a larger bed so found the bed in our room rather small.
Great location and very friendly staff. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Very comfortable stay. Staff, friendly, chatting in a professional manner. Bedroom very clean, hotel general decor inkeeping with style and age of hotel. Very stylish.
I can't think of anything negative..
Excellent location, right next door to train station (which we had no noise from). Comfortable and spacious bedroom. Best stocked coffee & tea facilities I've had in mid-hotel. Breakfast was a little on the small side (another slice of bacon guys, c'mon) but it was very good quality.
Bathroom was tiny and the shower took a long time to produce hot water. Reception staff were a little snippy in my view. The staff serving Breakfast were excellent. I did think it was a little pricy £250, for one en-suite room, single beds and breakfast: £200-220 would have been more reasonable.
Excellent location, across road from train station and easy walk into centre of the city. Room was very comfortable.
Central location, warm and comfortable.
Service in restaurant could be improved.
From the moment I arraived at the Royal the welcome was exceptional - Tim on reception and Dave in the bar deserve special mention for beung so attentive and charming - the hotel is old but I think that adds to the charm - it was spotless and in a brilliant location just opposite the train station - the food was amazing - wonderful steak I would have preferred a later time but that just means I will be sure to book dinner for my return visit -
Very friendly and attentive staff.
Small elevator and dirty ceilings.
Location was perfect. Room was comfortable although it was a little cold as the heating wouldn’t work. Room had shower gel soap tissues nice towels. Coffee and a good selection of teas. Biscuits and a little late night mint. Food in the restaurant was OK but staff were excellent.
I phoned the hotel the day before and was told everything was good and I had parking available. When I got to Bath and rang because I couldn’t find the car park to the hotel I was informed there was only parking for 6 cars and they were full. I had to park in the multi storey and incur £41 in charges. Had I known about the parking I would not have stayed there and booked a hotel with parking even though I might have cost more! I found a tablet by my bed on the second night I was there which had a had a child could have been dangerous- but where did it come from.
Breakfast was nice, kids loved it, very convenient location.
Lift is too small
Location, staff great, food great, room comfortable
Road noise from road side room because of part installation of secondary glazing
We loved the proximity to the train station and the town centre. We also liked the sense of history throughout the hotel. The room was warm and comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very nice. The hot choices are cooked to order which was great. The staff at the reception desk were friendly abd so were the cleaning staff.
There was nithing to not like.
Fantastic hotel staff couldn’t do enough for you and really good location.
Old fashioned door key system
Very near Station. Old fashioned in a good way.. The welcome tray was excellent.
Room was very small but had everything I needed..
