    Pros +

    • The hotel is absolutely stunning! It's really well located and beautifully decorated. The rooms are clean and they have everything you need for your stay. Delicious breakfast in a nice sun room, served by Ninna and her smile.
    • The staff were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious both mornings and definitely worth the small fee. Nice classic interior and great location within walking distance of the main tourist spots but on a quiet street.
    • The location was quite convenient. Proprietor made attempts to make us welcome.

    Cons -

    • No lift, multiple floors, no body wash or hand soft available. Not a single USB port for charging. Very rustic - creaky floors and bathroom tiles, bed was very uncomfortable.
    • Nothing!
    • The hotel doesn’t have a lift which was quite problematic in our case as we were on the top floor.

The location is fantastic and it is a good value for money, the place was clean . The nicest thing however were the people working there- extremely helpful, caring and charming. This made our stay great!

Amazing breakfast and lots of little touches that made the stay very special.

The room we stayed in was quite small but this has to be expected when staying in a period property.

Location and very helpful and friendly staff

Whilst the room was comfy as it was at the front of the hotel it was quite noisy and bright from the street lighting

We got upgraded which was brilliant and the lady on reception was so lovely and welcoming- such a great first impression. The room was elegant, clean and comfortable.

Lovely, just lovely! This guest house is not on a main strip, so it is quiet. I walked to it with rolling luggage from the railway station which was relatively easy to do, but don't expect the house to be super close; you'll need a little stamina for the walk (especially with luggage). Great breakfast buffet and pleasant staff (Brigette)! I chose this guest house because of its aesthetics, and I was not disappointed. This room has a single bed which was not uncomfortable but not luxurious either. No ac but there was an oscillating floor fan that saved the day (I arrived in August, so it was a bit warm). The backyard garden is divine.

The shower enclosure (in the shared bath) was exceptionally small, and the sinks in the shared bath as well as my room all have separate hot and cold faucets which, while quaint, is a bit impractical nowadays. The price seemed high when I compared it to where I stayed in London a week later; there I did not share a bathroom and the room had ac. That said, if you are looking for great aesthetics and not overly concerned with price, then the Kennard is wonderful.

Beautiful boutique guesthouse and lovely staff; very handy location in a quiet street but only a stones throw to town

The location, breakfast and personnel are all outstanding!

Very cozy feel. Staff really helpful. Stayed 20 years ago and still has same character.

A bit pricey, but Bath is expensive anyway.

Our host, Bridget was fantastic. We were returning after 8 years and she made sure we had the same room. There was a card and a gift to help us celebrate. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. We will definitely return.

The breakfast was continental and limited, however this would not deter us from staying again.

Great location, lovely staff , comfortable bed.

    Having to leave.

    8KazuhiroPosted on: 12-24-2025

A great location, close to major spots - walking distance. Cold meals but good quality breakfast.

The hot shower wasn’t good because the water pressure was low. This was not nice when we visited in December, a cold winter after long walks.
