    Pros +

    • Charming building, very large room, location is amazing,
    • Staff are amazing
    • Loved the characterful building and large bedrooms. The family suite was so comfy with a large four poster bed. The mattresses were the best I've ever slept on and the goosedown quilts were lovely and toasty. The rooms were lovely and warm which I was very grateful for as the weather was very cold so getting back to a warm room was very much appreciated. Breakfast was very nice and so were the staff.

    Cons -

    • Hotel needs some TLC Ceiling light fixture was full of dead bugs. (reported this at check-out, hopefully has been taken care of) Shower head barely worked - clogged by hard water
    • The stairs are a bit much for elderly travellers
    • The ceiling was a bit low in places in the bathroom which meant no shower on the wall, but there was a shower mixer tap on the bath. The toilet was constantly making a filling noise so could really do with fixing. The bath panel was pretty shabby and needs changing to smarten the room up a bit. Saying that, I would still book the same room again. It was the Garden Suite, room 10.

    Room Aesthetic and the bed

The shower had no pressure, barely worked and you couldn't adjust the temp. The lights all required plug sockets which didn't work so we had no light or power to charge our phones! I have asked for compensation, but not heard back, so I would say don't stay here sadly.

TVs in bother bedrooms did not work, no signalClip to hold shower onto wall was to high therefore could not cool shower head up to have a showerPillows felt poor qualityWindows in room where cracked, potential safety issue if young child ran fingers over themCarpet around edges of room have seen better day and need to be replaced Lamp on one side of bed had no wall plug to plug in inBathroom situated under stairs, if you were taller than 6ft you would struggle to get inNo heating in bathroom so cold through the nightTiling and grouting in bathroom need attentionBath panel damaged and broken needs replacing

The view from outside looked nice.

The condition of the room. No heating, stained lampshade, ripped wallpaper, unstable bed, broken coffee table.

The breakfast and staff when you got to see them

Threadbare / dirty carpets, dust on top of bed (4 poster), poor customer service around check in. Fixtures had been broken yet not fixed / removed. Bed was 2 mattresses and offered no support

Convenient, staff very helpful. Good cooked breakfast, very friendly cook.

Dining area and sitting room didn't smell very nice. Buffet breakfast was toast (no spreads) and cornflakes. Cooked breakfast was good though.Small bedroom with very small 'double' 4' bed that sagged in the middle. Stool at dressing table had a broken leg. There was no shower, just a slipper bath. Sink taps were loose. Hard to close the bedroom door when going out, as no handle. Very small t.v.Wasn't great, but then it was very cheap so not complaining!

A nice spacious room. Excellent breakfast served by a very nice waitress.

The family suite consisted of two rooms with a double bed in one and two twins in the other. Both rooms had a TV but one was stuck on dvd and the other could not be used as the remote was broken. I messaged about this (no staff present at the property) and did not get a message back or a solution even though the message was read.

Superb breakfast, cooked to order by a really lovely lady, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is quaint, the room was fine, we liked the peace and calm of the place, yet the proximity to the City. And the free parking was a plus.

Staff - excellent and helpfulBreakfast - very goodFacilities - the family room is spacious and comfortable

The facilities would need some refurbishment, both in the rooms/bathrooms and in the common parts.

    Location was as advertised

    1. The room advertised was not given to me2. The shower drainage was blocked thus water accumulated 3. Shower water was cold !!!4. Toilet was very very old and mould everywhere5. The whole place in dire need of renovation6. Pillows were very old, bad quality and made sleeping impossible. 7. Floor carpet was very dirty

I've had an amazing time here, staff are lovely and breakfast was lovely looking out on to the garden. You just need to step out the door and the views are beautiful. I will definitely be coming again, so much I didn't get to explore

The property was an older building in need of some renovation but it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Old house was quirky but interesting. Single staff member was helpful. Was clean and warm. Breakfast was great.

As others have said, the house is tired. This won’t suit every traveller but was fine for us (two adults, two kids). Broken ground floor window panes taped up; window couldn’t be locked; bedside lamp had no power point; shower has low ceiling at about 6 feet; toilet cistern ran constantly.

Very friendly, pleasant and attentive staff, thank you very much, good tasty breakfast.

The room was dirty, there was mould in the bathroom, and the toilet tank was leaking (the noise prevented us from sleeping), there was an unpleasant smell, damaged furniture, a bed without legs in the middle, and when two people slept on it, they both slid into the middle and disturbed each other. It seems that there are problems with the floor on the first floor, as we had a room underneath it and could hear all the noise too well, the ceiling creaked and prevented us from sleeping.

The location was perfect if you travelled by car, also conveniently located near a bus stop for easy access into Bath town centre. The room was very spacious and full of period features which I absolutely loved.

The check-in had me worried when I did not receive a code at first but it arrived shortly before check-in.

    Vipin's customer service was excellent.

Some furnishings were worn out and the TV remote not fully working.

    2KatePosted on: 1-5-2026

    Not a lot.

Decor was in serious disrepair. Bathroom fittings were all falling apart and it there was mould everywhere.Only English Breakfast option - no continental option such as cereals which was disappointing.
