About

Malmaison Aberdeen is a stunning luxury hotel with sumptuous rooms, a sophisticated brasserie, a diverse spa and endless exquisite designs, style and flair. Formerly the Queen's Hotel, the boutique Malmaison Aberdeen is part new-build, part original façade. Other special features include the gym and the wine-tasting cellar. In addition to the brasserie with its excellent wines, the Whisky Snug is a cozy corner where you can sip fine whiskeys from over-sized tartan armchairs.

    • Loved the decor. Great little room. My partner was very happy with the little extras that were given !Fantastic size of room, big showering area, comfortable bed.The bathtub was obviously the centre piece for her !
    • Room was excellent, breakfast also excellent. Staff extremely helpful and friendly
    • The hotel was beautiful, quirky and decadently decorated, with beautiful dark wood, deep colours and artwork, the room was spaces and beautiful, with a huge comfy bed, The staff were so warm and welcomed us with smiles, and could not do enough for us! Lovely lovely staff.

    Cons -

    • Unfortunately, there were a few concerns.. The fact we were greeted by a building surrounded by rusty scaffolding left a bitter taste. I wish this had been disclosed, as we probably wouldn't of booked this time around.Felt like the room needs a good freshen up. For the way the hotel presents themselves as the high standard type, then the room conditions could have been improved slightly to reflect that.Bathroom LED light loose and hanging off wall.Plenty of holes from existing mountings painted over rather than wallplugs removed and properly repaired.Soap from a previous guest was stuck to the bottom of the bath.Plenty of marks/wear and tear. For the price, the quality of ingredients for breakfast could have been improved slightly as most of the stuff appeared to be from a basic shop.
    • Only tiny thing were the pillows where a little too soft for me, but thats a personal preference not the fault of the hotel.
    • Poor lighting, dripping tap in bathroom and shower had little pressure and poor hear

    Staff were very friendly.

Room was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was situated below the restaurant and all night we could hear constant footsteps, music played, chairs being scraped along the floor, banging and clattering of dishes. Me and my wife had pretty much no sleep the whole night.

Super friendly staffBreakfast lovelyNice calm, relaxing atmosphereRoom was excellent with super comfy bed

The only thing g I would say is there wasn’t a socket close to a mirror to dry my hair

Great valve dinner bed and breakfast. Food was delicious, and service was excellent. Room was spotless and bed was super comfortable. Couldn’t fault the place. Will definitely use again on our next trip to Aberdeen.

Bit of a bun fight for parking places, not nearly enough! Also, there is no facility for electric vehicle charging within a reasonable distance to the hotel.

Everything! The staff on reception were so lovely and kind. The room was comfortable and it gave me a well needed rest

I enjoyed the nespressi coffee machine, the Ferrero rochers, and the lighting in my room. The decor was fun and colourful. The bath was lovely and I slept well in my bed watching some TV after my bath. I didn't use the shower but appreciated the toothbrush kit when I asked at reception. The breakfast staff were incredibly attentive - they made me feel so welcome and cared for

I found the temperature in the room a bit warm and didn't realise I could change the thermostat. This is probably because I'm not a regular hotel resident

The surprise package of our holiday this hotel exceeded our expectations. We encountered heavy snowfall and were so grateful it happened while we were at this hotel. The food for all meals was exceptional, a little pricey but delicious. We knew that the weather had caused a lot of disruption, but the staff rose to the challenge and appeared to be handling the situation well. The pathway was cleared of ice and snow so we could make it easily to the carpark when we left. The decor was a lot and probably not everyones cup of tea, but it was fun for a short stay and gave the rooms some personality. We had a group with 5 rooms, and it was lovely to see the variation in decor of each room.

Food was expensive, but it was delicious and there was a good variety on offer to cater for our mixed group of dietary requirements including vegetarians and coeliacs.

The bar and restaurant were amazing.

My room and bathroom were extremely cold.

    10KirstyPosted on: 1-15-2026

We were only there briefly. We use the Mal- Malmason chain and the Aberdeen hotel came up to its usual high standard

    Nothing obvious

    10SweeneyPosted on: 1-12-2026

Receptionists plural most accommodating as I had to change date due to bad weather, snowed in .

Minor point steak knives were not sharp enough, the black pudding for breakfast resembled an ice hockey puck all good apart from that

    Ambiance and food

2 service charges, 1 for food and 1 for drinks

Very warm and comfortable. Friendly staff, lovely food.

There was a lot of snow. Car park could have been cleared to make it easier to park our cars safely.

    8RobertPosted on: 1-5-2026

Breakfast was good qualityand easy to get a table

Paking only minor point is challenging. That includes the car park at the back of the Hotel
