Hotel Meninas - Boutique Opera

The location was in the center on the city in a very walkable area. The hotel itself was very cute as well. The staff knew English and were very helpful. They were willing to provide maps, directions, and personally walk me through how to get a train.

The light switches were a little weird - as in placed in odd locations. The breakfast was subpar, but nothing worth getting upset over. Also, pretty sure that the AC is set for the room and it got pretty warm every night even though I was there in winter.

Purely profit oriented venture that does not care about the well-being of guest. Refused to refund/ provide voucher for potential guest with COVID-19, who had to cancel the trip at the last minute.

We were given a room for disabled people with bars for safety but no shower curtain. We got used to it.

I liked the room layout and breakfast options! The property was very accessible to activities and walkable. They decorated the bed for my birthday and it was very sweet.

I did not like the payment process. I was sent a PDF and given instructions to pay through a separate portal, which did not work the first few attempts. It was more difficult. I felt it was a little overpriced for what we received in return. No amenities outside of breakfast. The mini fridge had an open monster energy drink in it when we checked in, which made it smell.

It was an excellent location and an exceptional staff.

There were no washcloths for your face. The heating and cooling up the room had to be regulated by the desk, not by the occupants.

The location is 1/2 block from the Opera house and convenient to all manner of shopping and sightseeing in the center of Madrid. It is on a side street and avoids most of the noise of the busy nearby plaza. There is even a local grocery store across the street. The front desk staff is exceptional - shout out to Alain, who arranged for three early morning taxis to return our group to the airport - and handled even the smallest request with his great smile and efficiency! The rooms were immaculate, well-stocked with amenities, air conditioned and one of the few local hotels with an actual king sized bed.

Arriving on a Sunday afternoon by taxi from the airport, many streets are cordoned off for miscellaneous protests, concerts, pedestrian walkways, etc. We had to walk about a half block so that we didn't encounter any further standstill traffic. The trip from the airport should have been 20-25 min and took an hour. Would have added an addition 20-30 min if we hadn't gotten out and walked around the block. Our taxi driver received a handsome tip for this suggestion Our friends, who arrived midday on Monday did not encounter this type of traffic. Sunday in the center of Madrid is rough traffic-wise.

The comfort, the professionalism of the staff, especially Yanira de front desk girl, who went out of her way to arrange for room service when I told her I was hungry and tired and arranged for the transport to the location where I would continue my trip to Sevilla. Thank you very much
