Pros +
- The hotel is a small boutique hotel in Serrano. The area is excellent, picturesque, loads of boutique shops and little restaurants and cafes. Very quiet but still very central. Metro is only 4 minutes walk if needed. Main shopping road the same. The hotel style is a mix of modern and old, very fine decor and well-styled. Staff are super friendly, especially in the dining area during breakfast. The products (shampoo, conditioner…etc) were excellent.

Cons -
- I’ve unfortunately had a few issues during the stay, the first was that 5 minutes into a shower, the water would come out and fill the bathroom/reach sleeping area. I noticed it the moment I checked in, and went to inform at the reception. They were very apologetic and told me they’d send someone to fix it. I don’t know if they have or can because I had to leave right after, but the problem persisted the days after. The room was quite small. Ok for one person, but there was barely space for one piece of luggage.I did check in about 1hr/ half an hour before check in time and I’m not sure how ready my room was. I was missing a kettle, tea, but most importantly water. When I saw the next day that they still hadn’t brought it, I asked and they immediately accommodated. The breakfast was a la carte, a good selection, but the only plant based item on it was fruit salad. Since I’m a vegan, I was a bit disappointed, but the staff was very happy to give me something customized, so I had toast with avocado and tomato. The quality was excellent but you can imagine that eating the same thing 5 days straights gets too much.
- Boring hotel … loby and entrance need more lights…
- The price is high, almost similar to most of 5-stars hotels in the area..

The property is well-maintained and situated in a fantastic location. The staff was courteous and supportive. A pleasant experience overall.
“Exceptional service, unbeatable location, and an overall outstanding experience.”What I liked:The attention from the entire staff was truly exceptional — warm, professional, and always willing to help. It’s rare to find a team so dedicated and with such an amazing attitude. The location is perfect, the hotel is beautiful, and every service — from the rooms to the breakfast and the associated restaurant — was impeccable. We are extremely satisfied and would absolutely choose Tótem again when we return to Madrid.

The staff is super friendly and helpful all the way during our stay (especially the man at the bar who was ready to make me a cappuccino in the midnight). Location is central, so you can walk to Retiro and even to Plaza Mayor (around 45 minutes of pace walking).
Overpriced. Really. It is a solid 3-stars hotel, not 4 or 5. Roof room has no view.
Location quiet aircon ambience of restaurant
Poor light in shower..
Location was fantastic! The hotel is very convenient and comfortable.
I booked the petite room at first which I thought was really small for us as a couple, but when I moved to the bigger room it was perfect.
A great hotel in every way, with excellent staff, facilities, and cleanliness, located in a wonderful neighborhood. We felt right at home and loved it.
Very good location and value for money
No spa and strong smell of food in the lobby

Some rooms too small expensive
Excellent location, service and staff

Location, service
The room are very small
Centrally located. Bar and restaurant were great. Very clean and modern. Staff were very helpful
The rooms are a bit small. This isn’t normally an issue. But in this case there was a lot of superfluous furniture stuffed into a small space (couch, table, full size bar etc) which eliminated a lot of otherwise usable space. Less in this case would be more
Spacious room with very comfy bed . Tastefully decorated. Quiet considering it s on the street . Good soundproofing windows
The restaurant connected to the hotel which I understand is a concession and not the hotel properly, is a real let down !! Very mediocre food . Bad service. I mean not up to the standard of the SLH brand . The hotel should close that wall and dissociate itself completely from that restaurant or find another tenant.
Savoury à la carte breakfast featuring a selection of toasts, eggs, and pancakes, all served with swift and attentive service. The fruit portions could be more generous, and the coffee quality—including its size and presentation—definitely needs improvement. The location is convenient, set in an upscale residential area surrounded by boutique shops and high-end restaurants.
While the location is convenient, the rooms are surprisingly small given the nightly rate, offering limited space for comfort or relaxation. The overall sense of value for money is questionable, especially when considering the gym, which is poorly equipped, lacks natural light, and consists of only a few outdated machines and a basic dumbbell rack. For the price point, one would expect more generous room dimensions and better wellness amenities.
did not eat breakfast at the hotel
We arrived late and after check in went to the bar for a cocktail. We went to the bar and placed our order after having waiting for the waiter and barman to finish their heated discussion. We ordered 2 mojitos ( 1 virgin )After waiting a further 30 minutes and watching other tables receive their drinks I signaled the waiter, and asked him where are drinks were.He said , they had run out of mint and wont be making them. ( no one told us )So we waited over 40 minutes and never got a drink. We couldn't believe it , and just went to our room , too tired to point out how badly we had been treated.
The corner room was spectacular!!! The neighborhood is also nice and quiet. The hotel bar and restaurant downstairs were both equally excellent.
