There was a crack in the ceiling in the shower room. When the occupants of the room above showered, the bath water poured through the crack. The bathroom area smelled bad.

Shower stall was heavily worn and needed new tile and grout work. Replace plastic chair with upholstered chair

Location was outstanding.

Room was huge for Europe. Ceiling slanted down because we were on top floor. We were given the option of a first floor room due to Spain national holiday. Our room was quite. We had to duck to walk to the bathroom.

It¿s central location near the Plaza Mayor was convenient and the surrounding restaurants were wonderful.

Recommend coffee in the room for guests

The location is perfect next to Plaza Mayor and Sol, in a pedestrian area.

The room doors do not isolate and because of the noise make by the cleaning staff, it is not possible to sleep after 8 am.

Location and staff. I was very dizzy the afternoon before my departure. I had already checked out but the manager found me a room where I could lie down and sleep for a couple hours The folks at the front desk are very friendly and helpful.

The slanting ceiling. I did hit my head a couple times but am short enough to usually duck it.

Location, location, location! It's literally right next to Plaza Mayor, which means you can walk around centro Madrid on foot very easily. The building is very well secured. Staffs are extremely friendly, too.

The room was extremely tiny. With basic room, you can barely open one big suitcase, but considering the fact that this is the most historic hotel in Spain, it is acceptable.

Great breakfast and fantastic location

Room really small. We could clearly hear everything whatever conversations were happening outside of our room (poor sound proofing).

Prime location! This hotel is literally next to Plaza Mayor and has lots of restaurants all around it, including the famous Botin, oldest restaurant in the world. They also offer free tours every morning.

For an extra cost, we could've upgraded to a larger room with a view but figured it was unnecessary. The room was pretty basic.

The location is great, dead center of "everything"

The staff weren't very friendly, nor did they speak English too well. There was a smell in the stairs that was unpleasant. Due to the location, arrival with the car was problematic - this was not mentioned when we ordered, we had walk with the 3 suitcases

Superb location, modern and stylish bathroom, lots of amenities.

Very hard bed to the point of not being able to sleep, no extra pillows or spreads. Sub par room cleaning.
