About

Welcome to Way Hostel Madrid! We’re located in the center of the city, just minutes away from the most iconic sights in the capital. From our excellent location you can walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the renowned museums of the Golden Triangle of Art, and, on Sundays and holidays, to the famous flea market El Rastro. Here at Way Hostel Madrid, we work hard to make you feel at home. Our Hostel captures the essence of backpacking, bringing people together to share a room, the first morning coffee, several different free tours, nights out on the town… you can find it all here. More than just a place to spend the night, we welcome you to a warm and friendly atmosphere where everyone forms part of a new shared experience, no matter where you’re from. We are convinced that the difference between a Hotel and a Hostel is the S that stands for Social. In our common kitchen you can prepare your favorite dishes or try food from different places around the world! We provide free coffee and churros every morning so you can start your day in the best possible way. (Please note that this is not a full, proper breakfast, just a little something to get you going.) There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the entire building and a wide variety of rooms available, from 2-person private rooms to shared rooms for 6, 8, or 12 people. There is always an electrical outlet, reading light, and locker for each bed. Finally, we have the common room, where you can make friends, watch your favorite sport, or simply rest after a day of sightseeing. All you have to do is walk in and enjoy. We don’t want to take up any more of your time today; please feel free to book your reservation and have a great stay!

    Pros +

    • Everything was great. They rooms are nice and spacious and the kitchen is pretty accessible . We could leave our bags with them until we left Madrid.
    • Had kitchen available, clean, near transportation
    • Very close to restaurants and metro and La Puerta del sol

    Cons -

    • One of the ladies that go in to clean up after checkout time. She was very lousy with others guest still in the room. But I guess it’s normal. Other than that all good.
    • Crowded, very crowded and cramped space. However, I was there on a holiday, so all lodgings were packed and overpriced. My room was above a bar and there wasn’t insulation, so it was noisy and cold. They did provide ear plugs, which helped a little. Could have been cleaner. It seemed grungy.
    • The lack of ventilation in the rooms and in the reception area while cooking!

Close to the main plaza, Atocha station and metro. Cafes and shops nearby. Staff were wonderful, churros in the morning were nice. Individual bunks with electrical outlets, beside light and privacy curtains. Lockers. Bathroom inside the women’s dorm, although it meant more moisture in the room. Strong WIFI.

The location is unbeatable. Also, the mattress was so comfortable and big, and I slept well. The ventilation of the room was fantastic. I liked the common area too, it is comfortable and spacious. One of the best hostels I've been to.

The staff at Way Madrid Hostel is extremely friendly and helpful. It's located just a 5-minute walk from Puerta del Sol. The street can look a bit intimidating, but crossing it gives you access to the Tirso Molina metro station. There’s a Lidl grocery store just a minute from the hostel. However, keep in mind that there is no elevator! Be sure to check the type of room you book; my reservation didn’t specify that it was a mixed dorm, so I was surprised to find myself as the only woman in a room with seven men. The dorm for eight had a strong foot odor and lacked ventilation, which was quite shocking. I reported the issue to Booking.com, and they reached out to the property for a refund. Thankfully, Yulissis, the kind receptionist, found a solution by moving me to another room, allowing me to enjoy the rest of my vacation in peace. The staff really is wonderful!

The lack of ventilation in the rooms and in the reception area while cooking!

Great location , walking distance from points of iinterest and public transit.

Kitchen is very small , I would not recommend for long term stays . I was not able to leave my luggage after checkout bc the room was “too full”

The location is perfect. Shared bedrooms have individual booths that are quite good. They might be a bit uncomfortable for a taller person though.

The room was not ventilated enough. It smelled like dirty socks. Probably one of the guests.

    Location is very convenient.

Someone stole my food(with my name on the tag and the bag was closed)in the fridge. I reported to the staff but no one tried to be responsible for the situation. Eventually they told me I was supposed to put my leaving date on the tag too, otherwise guests might take the food as free food?!(which I thought was ridiculous). I am disappointed with their management and the attitude towards situations like this.

Friendly staff, luggage storage available , great spot to walk around and have metro stations close

    5DeckerPosted on: 10-29-2025

The hostel is in a very noisy area of Madrid where people like to party all night. This hostel is good for kids but not for adults.

I did not like the mixed gender accommodations.

Great hostel with kind staff which is located in a strategic location, near the city center and the main transportation (metro, buses...) and also to the supermarkets and shops.

One of the staff is so nice and kind of me. He helped me call booking.com at UK Office with his person cellphone. Also a lady staff wrote me a detailed address to take an express bus to airport.

    Shower drainage is plugged.
