Pros +
- This is a small chic hotel, it is one of the oldest in Madrid which has a certain charm and they do a great job keeping it updated.Rooms are fantastic particularly the 2 bedroom suite. It was so comfortable and spotless and spacious and well appointed. This hotel is about service, you will feel taken care of as soon as you arrive till the time you leave. Will stay here again.
- Probably one of the BEST hotels we have ever stayed in. Absolutely outstanding. I’ve been very fortunate to have stayed in some of the top hotels in the world but this surpasses them all. Customer service and experience was off the scale. Everything about this hotel evokes 7 star luxury and attention to detail. The staff are incredible. Every single one of the team went out of their way to make a family break memorable in every way possible and that is a reflection of great leadership. Thank you so much. We can’t wait to come back soon.
- The staff, the pet friendliness, the history of the hotel, the bar is historic! When you enter the hotel you feel transported into a different age, where beauty matters.
Cons -
- Breakfast nook a little small
- The room was amazing, but a little bit on the small side.
- Travelers should know that the hotel opens onto a narrow one way street in the historic center of town. There are many bars and restaurants in close proximity which can be very loud. Having said that, however, our room was at the back of the hotel and completely quiet.

The hotel was very clean and nice. The stay was amazing! The staff were very kind and helpful, especially Stefian.I really enjoyed my time and I will come back again!
Classic decor honoring the hotel’s history. The rooms are crisp and modern with storage and amenities right where you need them. Luxurious towels and bedding.

Lovely, historic 5 star property in the heart of town!
Room size was small
The location. The staff. The bed. The AC.
The room was small.
What an amazing experience!! We started our vacation at the Ingles, left to visit two other cities, then ended our time in Spain at the hotel. Getting back to the Ingles was like coming home. I'm missing it already.
Wonderful concierge -- gave local recommendations for food and areas to visit. We were also able to leave luggage as we are going back to hotel to end our trip.
- Location close to Gran Via and at a nice walk distance to Salamanca- Impeccable cleanliness and extremely responsive housekeeping services- Very helpful and cheerful staff from the concierge to the bellmen - Amenities of the room (l'Occitane products and v well equipped) and size of room (larger vs. Madrid standards)
- Horrendous soundproofing and a good soundproofing is to me a must when I travel and want to relax in the room at any time of the day. The balcony type of room is facing the street which is non stop noisy until very late at night (there is a famous tapas bar literally in front of the hotel entrance and numerous bars in the streets so noise carries on until 3am even during weekdays). I didn't mention anything to the staff (although I had asked for a quiet room before arrival) because there is nothing they could have done but it's very disappointing for such a hotel standard. there is also a building in construction literally next to the hotel so during the day you get construction noise - I would sadly not come back before of that- Very stiff mattress and thick pillows (I'd say that these are more of a personal preference)
Fantastic and attentive staff, great facility, convenient location, great bar and restaurant
The staff is great! The hotel is close to a lot of the things, very central. It's clean and the bed is very comfortable!
The rooms are small! I didn't think it would bother me that the place didn't have a rooftop, but it would've been nice to have some sort of outdoor space to relax in after a long day of walking, but if that's not important it's a good hotel! no real complaints.
The rooms were very spacious and clean, all amenities were readily available which we liked and there was no lack of extra supplies which we appreciated. Everyone working was very friendly and ready to help. Location was great too.
Well-appointed, well-located modern hotel
Lobby feels like a social space for staff. Many standing around interacting with each other rather than guests. Had stayed in larger room last time which was nice. This room was just OK. Marginally overpriced for what you get
The hotel is beautiful and in a very good location in the older part of town. Close to many restaurants and major attractions. Staff are excellent, always helpful, always friendly.
Nothing, was perfect.
Very attentive service, beautiful historic building, well appointed rooms.
Bathtub in the room instead of the bathroom. (Not usable). Service at lobby restaurant was on and off. Lobby restaurant menu is not on the website. Didn’t know meals were an option here!
Fantastic service, very comfortable room and bed, lovely bathroom and great breakfast.
Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated.Staff are very helpful, thanks to them.Sound insulation of room was not so good, ventilation of toilet should be better.
excellent breakfast, excellent diner, great room very comfortable and clean. But mostly the staff was among the best i've experienced in Spain a a whole. In a non-intrusive way, very attentive taking care of every need. My wife even got a birthday cake in our room ! out of nowhere. also, the lobby/restaurant has live performances every night. And quality as well.
Nice rooms, cute bar, live music in the evening, very nice and welcoming staff
