    Pros +

    • Ive stayed here a dozen times. The staff really nice and helpful in a sincere way. The rooms are all different and Ive never had a bad one. The modern interior in an old structure is well executed. The breakfast buffet is a winner.
    • Centrally located with great rooms and a very nice staff
    • Location was great! We were 15 minutes away from everything we wanted to see. We walked every where. Hotel employees were extremely helpful with directions & places to eat. We would definitely stay there again.

    Cons -

    • The crowds outside can get boisterous, especially on weekends.
    • The floor in the bedroom & bathroom was squeaky.
    • This was definitely not a 5-star hotel, especially the room. Our room was very dated, with low ceilings & bathroom in poor condition (tub finish was peeling, shower leaked). There was a terrible odor in the hallway for the duration of our stay.

    Location

We booked a certain room online but when we arrived the us in a much smaller room then what we booked. We are very thorough. The suite was descriptive as to square footage. Finally to get what we originally booked we had to pay an up charge. Boo

The limited staff were very friendly

Poor facilities not for young children, too noisy got no sleep. NOT a 5 star hotel. The bar is a large mini bar. Breakfast is limited if you like eggs you will be ok...far to expnsive for what it is.

    Location is awesome

Definitely not a five star hotel. Air didn't work. There were electrical problems.

    6KevinPosted on: 7-31-2019

The location was excellent. The drink upon checkin is a nice touch. The staff were friendly. I extended one night and they let me stay in the same room at the same price

Our room had electrical failures. The phone didn't work. The air conditioning didn't work well. It is controlled from a master room and not inside the room itself. It was not a bad experience but this is not even close to a five star hotel.

Beautiful and well maintained. Staff was very accommodating.

The breakfast buffet was extremely expensive and confusing.

Formerly a palace, and it feels unique in that way. Termendous breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, lovely rooms, lobby and super great location.

All great - however, the room was a bit warm, although it was unseasonably warm in Feb.

    Location

I signed up for a five star hotel. Though the Madrid Palacio de Tapa was acceptable, it was not a five star property. It is a solid 4 star hotel.

Great location and modern and clean hotel.

All was fantastic except for centrally controlled AC which meant the room was a little hot at night and rooms facing the square were noisy with bottles constantly being cleared during the early hours of the morning.

What a great find. Wonderful architecture and location with very fine attention to detail from breakfast to welcome water at the front desk.

    Not at alll

Location is great, near everything! Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room is big and very typical Spanish style. Not crowded at all most of time.

There was not enough places to put items in our room, although room is big, furniture is not enough. Water was out when taking shower. Compare to Westin where we stayed last year, this hotel does not get the real 5 stars.

    9IngridPosted on: 10-26-2017

Lovely atmosphere, helpful staff, great location.

Minor, but the hand held shower head was not great. There was of course the rain head shower, but the other shower head had to be held, and didn’t have a bracket to hold it other than shooting straight out!

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 10-23-2017

I stayed at this last year because of the great location. But it also has phenomenal staff, very attentive. Rooms are great, room service impeccable. Tired of tapas client service recommended two great restaurants an Italian and a great Paella place.

Some of the rooms on the first floor have a very low ceiling, we were assigned one of those last year but then upgraded w/o a charge to another one w a beautiful view. So front desk people do their best when possible.

Superb service. Our room was very comfortable. It was simple yet elegant. The staff were genuinely nice and again, i can't say enough about how great the service was. It was also near the Prado. Great location!

Or stay could only have been better if breakfast had been included. It really was a 5 star hotel.
