Barbieri Sol Hostel

Great location 3 minutes walk from Puerta del Sol/km 0 Great room with shower and WC inside. Everyday they clean the room and make bed, fully equipped kitchen, terrace, TV area , living room. Great staff very helpful.

Perfect location in the city center, foot distance from all the attractions. However, it is very quiet because it doesn't have a window looking on the street. The bathroom and the sink were in the room and the toilet outside, but every time it was free (3 cabins) and very clean. The kitchen is huge and very well equipped and clean. The terrace is beautiful and good for having a meal or just to relax ... The room is small but clean and has everything you need. After a few days they changed towels. It was very warm and cozy inside even it was cold outside. Enough electric sockets. The staff was very nice and helpful, and let us leave our baggage after check out, which helps us a lot to enjoy the last day in Madrid.

Maybe to have some shelf by the bead and more hangers for the clothes besides the ones in the wardrobe

The location is brilliant and we had a very good twin room, so I may be overly enthusiastic about the hostel, but it was so perfect for us. The kitchen is a valuable feature if you are either into healthy eating. The staff were excellent. I'll try to book it again for my next visit.

This location is excellent even superb, Very close to any transportation types just in the streets that has an all kind of restaurants. The staff is very friendly. Speedy wi fi, excellent air condition, everything was clean

Street was a bit noisy at 2am

Hostel was easy to find and just a short walk from an uber drop off point. No stairs but the staff was really helpful in getting our bags from the 3rd to the 4th floor. The 4th floor felt homey, amenities were basic but functional. Great water heat and pressure. Was able to store our luggage after check-out so we could explore the city a little longer.

Pillows were a little lumpy but after a busy day, I slept, just the same. Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, the city is somehow noisier at 3am than 9am.

The location was fantastic. We were able to essentially walk everywhere.Our room was large with a private bathroom and suited our needs.

No elevator but what can you do

Location Location Location Room was big and with a decent aircon. Clean.

4 floors with no elevator. Difficult with bags and luggage.Just up and down is tiring. No mirror or anything in the room.

The staff/ Orlando/Valentina/Diego/Santiago are very friendly very hospitable helpful & happy staff

This property was in a great location! It is pretty central to a lot of the major attractions in Madrid! Our host was excellent, he took the time to point out areas of interest on the map and made sure we had everything we needed!

The beds weren’t the most comfortable in the world.

It was really clean place. And the beds were really comfy. We stayed at 4 bed dorm room and it’s really great to have your own bathroom. And also they have a great terrace.

Location was great. Check-in was easy. Staff was pleasant.

My room window overlooked a street filled with shops/restaurants. The loud talking/laughing/noise lasted into the wee hours. I had to wear earplugs AND headphones to deal with it. Everything else was just fine.

1) Central location. 2) Gracious host. 3) Private bathroom was clean. 4) This was the best of the three hostels we booked during our weeklong stay in Spain in June 2025.

These may seem like a lot, but are minor: 1) This is the only property I know — and I have traveled across four continents since — that still uses Covid as an excuse to curtail staff hours. They should stop doing that.2) Email claimed I was informed about midnight closing of reception. I checked my information, and was not informed.3) Floor was dusty. We could feel the dust on our feet. A quick vacuum would have been helpful.4) Air conditioner was weak. We are from Wyoming in the USA, where it gets to -50 degrees F (-46 degrees C) before windchill in the winter. At the end of an exhausting day, good aircon is very important.5) We paid €94.30 for one night, for one double room with private bath. That feels high, and comparable to hotel rates.

The location is pretty good, close to the Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, easy to access many restaurants, food market, grocery store.The two-bed room is ideal for couples and friends, the room and beds are just okay but you can't ask too much for a hostel. You'll have a shower room and a wash basin in the room, and the toilet is beside the room which is clean. In total, is a good place to stay and a good deal.

The decoration and facilities are kind of old, but it's okay for me.Note that the hostel is on the 3rd floor and has no elevator.

Location is central. Facilities are comfortable with multiple common areas including very nice terrace with plants. Kitchen is nice and well equipped. Staff is supportive especially Orlando.

My four bed dorm room was a bit small but included a bathroom and small terrace. They are on 2nd floor, third floor by USA perspective, so lots of steps for this 80 year old traveler, however, staff helped with luggage.
