W Barcelona is a striking sail-like structure next to Barceloneta Beach, offering breathtaking design and fantastic views over Barcelona. It features a spa, infinity pool, rooftop bar and luxurious rooms. The W Hotel’s impressive rooms feature avant-garde design and views of the Mediterranean or the city. They all come with a chaise lounge, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station and rainfall shower. The W has a stylish gourmet restaurant, FIRE; and you can enjoy a cocktail with panoramic views over the city and sea at NOXE rooftop bar, located on the 26th floor. Cocktails are also offered in the W Lounge. The SALT Beach Club & Restaurant has a menu of innovative burgers accompanied by specially designed cocktails to live the ultimate burger by the beach experience. There are two pools, SUN Deck and WET Deck, which are surrounded by decking with loungers. The hotel also has direct beach access. Facilities at the W Spa include a hot tub, sauna and steam room, and a brand new relaxation area, GETAWAY, is available from 2018. A wide range of relaxation and beauty treatments is available. The W is 20 minutes’ walk from Barceloneta Metro Station, and buses stop outside the hotel.

Pros +
- Everything! The room views, trendy atmosphere and the spa were amazing
- I liked the amount of different amenities
- The property was very nice. The rooms were modern and maintained. It was located on a nice spot on the ocean.
Cons -
- The only slight pain was you needed to take a taxi to get anywhere that wasn't the beach. At a minimum, taxi expenses were $30 a day.
- The rooftop bar charged exorbitant prices for a simple gin and tonic. The barman was very poor in customer service. They act like an exclusive club but just really poor management of hotel guests.
- I did not like that the hotel was putting on an event and the customers lost access to a number of amenities we paid for. It was a loud event with drunk people blasting mystic, yelling and slamming doors all hours of the night. Extremely disappointing
