Great location just off the Royal Mile and close to Waverley Station. We asked for a room with a view and were given one overlooking Cockburne Street.

The room was huge; loved it. Staff was also great.
There was a section of wall that was plain sheet-rock nailed over a door. The shabby look wasn't the problem though: we could basically hear everything going on in the adjacent room. Not ideal.
I loved this little hotel! It was perfectly located steps off the Royal Mile. Donâ≢t let the unassuming front turn you off - the rooms are very nice, my bathroom was large and well equipped with a fantastic shower!
Only two minor drawbacks: no hairdryer, and the pillows were kinda hard.
The location was excellent, right in the heart of the old city, in walking distance to many of the main attractions and the train station / bus stops.
This area may just be expensive, but overall for the amount of money it cost, I found the accommodations to be decent but not excellent.

Our host at breakfast was rude and welcoming. He was discriminatory. We will never return to this hotel.
Pleasant staff but many of them seemed to need more training in how to do their tasks. They all were trying to do well but too many seemed to flounder. Breakfast was great--
Given a double bed/had a confirmed reservation for a King-- I was given a handicapped room that met the criteria for someone in a wheelchair but it did not have comfortable bathroom Accommodations for my husband and myself.
