    Pros +

    • Breakfast was tasty. The room was very clean and the hotel was accessible to transit and close to central attractions. Staff was friendly.
    • staff was really welcoming and nice, there are very nice welcome gifts like a free cocktail and early check-in for bonvoy guests (which is a free subscription). the room was very spacious and super clean. there wasn’t any app on the tv but i was able to cast whatever i wanted onto it so that was nice. i used the ironing room too and it really helped me! it’s really close to the centre with bus 1 & 34. i stayed at a moxy hotel in birmingham a few years ago and it was amazing as well so i was sure to find the same quality here.
    • Great hotel in a convenient location - mostly walkable to the many attractions. The breakfast options were excellent, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

    Cons -

    • It was very hot when we were visiting and the air conditioning was non-existent. The room was up to 24 degrees overnight.
    • nothing, it was great!
    • AC was broken in the middle of summer. Unseasonably hot. Had to notify front desk numerous times to reset unit on the roof. This appears to be a common issue as front desk knew exactly the issue and how to reset. I specifically book this property because it had AC and didn't book an Airbnb.

Nice decorations, the room was comfortable and clean. They gave us welcome drink which was nice.

Our room was small, it did not have any mini-fridge, closet, or safety box. The washroom was also very compact. The room view was not very charming as it was facing the construction site next door.

Location, free breakfast, hotel bars and rooftop view

    Price was a bit steep

    9TRACYPosted on: 12-23-2025

The rooms are immaculately clean and well presented. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast options were fabulous. It was lovely to have the option of traditional hot breakfast as well as continental. We will definitely return.

The only small thing which would have improved our stay would be for the rooms to be a little warmer at night. We did turn up the thermostat though it seems to be preset and we couldn’t increase the temperature.

We really liked this hotel. Nice quiet part of town near some very good restaurants, 20 minute walk to down town or 5 minutes from the bus stop. Very modern and clean hotel.

The location is amazing, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Our Delicious breakfast was included in the price of our stay, and the rooms were clean and well-equipped with wonderful facilities.

Very modern and well decorated, comfortable and super clean. Nice breakfast with plenty of gluten free options.

    Nothing really.

Nice lobby and bar. Good breakfast choice and very close to downtown. Interior is appealing.

Overpriced, average bed, limited amenities. Had to call 3 times for an extra duvet...

Visiting Edinburgh, location is just fine for me, could walk around interesting spots withing 15-30 minutes easily. Fast check-in and out. I was quite satisfied with breakfast quality. TV YT stream service working well, basic cleaning done every day. Overall room size is ok. USB ports for charging. Great curtains in the room. Grocery store next to the hotel opened till 11am or bar at the hotel for snacks. Possible checkout at 12 who needs this and could leave baggage there which was nice. There is hotel gym which I found out when leaving, would be nice to be informed during check-in.

Really disappointing details at this 4 star - price range. Little plastic rubish and dirt next to bed for 3-days stay just for detail, towels changed but cups for tea not, personal feeling from hotel there's lacking stuff. Wi-fi speed just 6Mbps on the first floor room. Little noise from AC ventilation even it was turned off whole night. Ceiling was vibrating when somebody walk in the room above. Noise from ongoing reconstruction on the street wasn't problem, but window was dirty. Really small bathroom, towels almost falling to the toilet when were hang on. No storage space in the room, just hangers. Bed mattress uncomfortable, had feeling not sleeping straight all the time. Breakfast had small space, quite busy whole time, 2 coffee machines not working later, casually missing food or cups for coffee, slower refill and every day almost same. Sitting around bar looks fancy, but not the best comfort.Payment on check-in was just card reservation + 30 pounds per night which I dont mind but it was kept for 15 days on my card even I was informed it will be cancelled after couple days. On check-out hotel, charged my card for expected amount and yes, exchange rate was even worse comparing first day, I ended up with negative balance and couldn't pay with card because I wasn't expecting another charge. Never happened to me in any hotel.

Clean, simple and modern, great facilities

The room was very warm considering we went in November, uncomfortably warm when we slept

    5DirkPosted on: 11-6-2025

The breakfast was inferior. The "free welcome cocktail was misleading. The room was small and had zero storage space for clothes/bags/etc.

Great property and very nice aesthetic near old town

Price was a little bit high for the size of the room

    7tomPosted on: 10-29-2025

Good location, quirky design. Bedrooms were small but adequate for 2 staying.

Breakfast on the last day really disappointing - like they had run out of supplies

    9KimberleyPosted on: 10-26-2025

These beds were more comfortable than other Moxy hotels I have stayed in.

There was a smoke detector beeping in a hallway the entire stay. If should have been fixed back to provide silence.

    10FrancisPosted on: 10-7-2025

Very clean. Loved the style. Friendly staff.

Nothing to complain. Eggs at breakfast were a little watery but that’s pretty much it. Great place.

    9FrederikePosted on: 9-18-2025

We had a great stay in this hotel. You have to walk around 25 mins to the old town or take a bus but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. There are also good breakfast and dinner options near by. We didn't had breakfast at the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but had everything you need. At the moment there is a construction site in the back of the hotel. Sometimes it's noisy but with closed windows it's fine. When it's finished you will have a nice view in the backyard and on a small river.

We stored our luggage there. Everything was in one locked room with no tags and you could just grab what you want after asking for your luggage without telling your name or room number. Felt unsafe.

The setting - I loved the board games and the table football in the hall

Some of the reception people not very helpful
