- Lovely staff very friendly.clean room with good easy bus service in to city
- Another wonderful stay at this lovely family run hotel. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated , shower in the bathroom etc. Home cooked breakfast to order. The staff are so kind, helpful and welcoming & will go out of their way to make you feel at home. The Hotel Ceilidh-Donia is our go to hotel whenever we are staying in Edinburgh. There are lots of nice restaurants, & pubs nearby , bus stops close with regular buses a short ride into Edinburgh City centre.
- Hosts were very friendly and accommodating - freed up a great parking space for us. The breakfast was delicious - loved the wilted spinach, mushrooms and potato scone on the vegetarian. Room was cosy and quiet with a lovely back garden view.
Cons -
- There was nothing we didn't like our whole stay was like a home from home..
- Everything was excellent.
- The property is in need of redecoration, the current decor is at least 20 years old and some things like window blinds and curtains were faded or discoloured. The hot sink tap in room 2 on 1st floor is a mere trickle and caused us to request a room change. We moved rooms without issue.

Everything was excellent.
Location was quiet and away from the potentially noisy city centre. Cleanliness was good and staff very attentive. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional.

Friendly staff, good service
Property does not have elevator , nice old building but it needs renovation
Wonderful hotel, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Lovely hosts. Great location, outside main city centre but easily reachable on foot or by bus.
Leaving.
I had a wonderful stay at this family-run boutique hotel with truly warm hospitality! The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive — they kindly stored my luggage when I arrived early and even allowed me to stay longer to attend an online interview. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with a heater and excellent bathroom facilities, including strong water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was outstanding, freshly prepared with great care — you really feel how much love they put into this place. I’ll definitely come back!
All is perfect!
Perfect location, quiet and comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared.
Super friendly owners and very comfy beds. Just a 10 minute walk to old town.
Nice hotel, 4 bus station to center, very friendly staff. Thanks for everything! Diamond hotel for Edinburgh!
Nothing actually!
Beautiful property inside and out- ideally located for the city. Room was clean and tastefully decorated with generous bathroom and heating. Bar and breakfast room were both lovely.
cozy room, quiet location, welcoming staff
We like the staff , the location and of course the bed was very nice. Breakfast was also good.
Nothing really.
Very friendly staff, pleasant and comfortable place albeit a bit out of the town centre
Everything was great, the hosts were incredible, very nice, made us an amazing breakfast each morning and always helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. And the location was perfect, as it was around 30 minute walk to the city center or numerous buses going to the center as well and Hollyrood park right around the corner.
Staff and included breakfast were great. We had some minor lighting in the room that didn't function properly. Location was very convenient to bus stops to visit different locales. Easy to walk to a local grocery for other things. Very close to several parks that are within easy walking distance.
Other than a couple of lights in the room not working properly, everything was great.
What a place! First class! Beautiful hotel in a lovey location, handy for city centre. The staff were not just friendly, they all went above and beyond and most importantly it’s all genuine. They were lovely genuine and very helpful from start to finish. Breakfast was just perfect too. I’ve stayed in some fancy big brand hotels but this is a reminder of how lovely and meaningful the personal touch means. Great place!

Nothing worth mentioning.
The room was the real definition of 'cozy' and very comfortable. There was a window in front of the bed from where you could see similar Scottish buildings. The breakfast was homemade and you could choose from a good variety of options, from toasts to salmon or eggs.
I cannot rave about this hotel enough! Everything was wonderful – from the lovely owners, to the comfy room, to the amazing breakfast, even the little bar area – it was all absolutely stellar! You really felt like you were coming home, here – the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. If you are looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh, look no further!!It's also super close to multiple bus lines that easily bring you into the inner city within 10 minutes or it's about a 20 minute walk. The area around also has lots of nice pubs and shops. You're in the perfect spot to not be in the touristy part of the city, but you still have easy access to everything.Really, don't second guess. Book here!
That I had to go home :'(
