Guards Hotel is a small family-run hotel across from Haymarket Train Station in the West End and close to the EICC. Princes Street is a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is warm, welcoming and has a military theme. Each room has free Wi-Fi and is well decorated with home comforts. The staff can help with travel arrangements and local information, and Edinburgh Tattoo tickets can also be arranged. There are excellent bus services into the center of the city and to Edinburgh Airport.

Please inform The Guards Hotel of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. A surcharge of GBP 10 per hour applies for arrivals after 22.30. All requests for late arrival are subject to confirmation by the property. A cash security deposit of GBP 250 is required on arrival for stag and hen parties. This deposit is fully refundable upon check-out and subject to a damage inspection of the accommodations. Children can be accommodated using existing beds, or if guests provide their own bedding. The gentleman who works afternoons is very pleasant and helpful.
Walking distance from city centre

Cons -

It?s an affordable hotel for young and older travelers, who don?t mind a few older decor issues.
Shower gave very little water, after using the bath a bad smell occurred. Beds were clean but mattress ready for change. Very high amounts of traffic and noisy room.
