Pros +
- Nice layout, spectacular view, friendly helpful staff, much to do, gorgeous view, lovely spa amenities
- The elevator broke and we were on the 3rd floor. That was difficult for my mom who is in her 80â≢s. Staff was nice but recommended a hotel that was closed so that was a little frustrating too. The hotel was clean and neat and people were friendly.
- Location, style (very French). Staff helpfulness. Elevators to get to upper floors. Charming patio, although it was too cold to use it. Room was more than adequate for the price.
Cons -
- No bell staff and reception is some distance from street. If you're traveling with heavy luggage this can be a problem.
- I missed the heat wave, and there was a lovely breeze, but if it had been as warm as the previous week, the lack of air conditioning would have been a real problem.
- Room very small for the price.

Location, ambiance, appearance and homelike character of the hotel, welcoming, accommodating staff, peaceful, quiet retreat in the center of the city with a beautiful garden.

Great location and friendly staff.
Terrific location.
Room very small for the price.
Courtyard and staff were wonderful.
The bathtub / shower was horrible to get out of. Very dangerous for older people.
Hidden gem of an old school Parisian hotel vibe. We ended up walking to most of the main attractions.
At first was disappointed there was no TV but by the 2nd day.....was glad there wasn't. It would have ruined the vibe and it really wasn't necessary.
Great staff, very private and secure. Nice food service available and location was excellent
No complaints
Lovely hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter, and just a few minutes walk from several Metro stations. This traditional hotel was a nice change from corporate chains, with real keys, and even a resident courtyard cat. The room we had was quite small, but adequate for two people. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and it was so nice to have the lounge space to sit and drink tea at the end of the day. The courtyard was picturesque, and I'm sure it would be a wonderful place to linger in fair weather. The neighborhood was lively, but not loud, and there were quite a few restaurants just a few meters from the hotel entrance. We enjoyed wandering the area, visiting shops, and watching the students at the Sorbonne go about their lives. We wished we had more time, and we'll definitely return to the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles again!
Nice garden area but we didn’t use it much as weather was poor.
Quite expensive. Small bathroom. Limited suitcase accessibility. Quite far from Paris center but also quiet.
It’s beautiful and quiet. Close to 3 metros and buses. It has an elevator which is a plus in Paris.
The building we stayed in needs to be renovated. Smelled mouldy and the electrical was not up to modern standards. No aircon so the room was stuffy and needed the window open all the time and we were there Sept 28-Oct 2. Our samsonite electric plug converter broke off in their ancient plug.
Loved the breakfast being brought to the table -- no dashing dash back and forth to the buffet for all the things you forgot or did not notice were there. Location absolutely perfect, an oasis of quiet in a busy Paris area.
My only real gripe was that the bed did not have a headboard, so it was difficult to sit up and read in bed. We solved it by putting our suitcases there. Lighting in our room could have been better. That there was no TV we knew beforehand, so we read a lot, which initially was not easy because.... see above.
convenient location , tremendous staff, quaint setting
We loved everything. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, the garden is amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Paris
In general, the staff was very nice and accommodating, especially Jimmy. It has a courtyard charm behind the big door.
The biggest problem is noise from other rooms- no insulation in the walls. The rooms are small.I did not particularly like the location either.
Ambiance, staff, location, charm, food, were all top notch.
Disappointed that only one window was operational.
We loved the location and the setting
the room was very small and the electrical sockets were dangerous as were not properly secured to the wall
Location was perfect, private yet just the r ight street life . After a long safari trip this was the charming, wonderful five choice breakfast . Staff were so helpful and informative .
Breakfast
Just a great lovely experience, it is a really lovely place to visit and to return to chill and have some peace after being walking all Paris. The garden is really beautiful, is quiet and really nice. Great surroundings area to have dinner, supper and felt really safe .
