Courtyard by Marriott Paris Gare De Lyon

I liked everything! The room was beautiful, the staff was helpful, and the location was perfect, right near the Gare de Lyon and much more. So happy I chose this hotel!

Beautiful room. The staff were excellent and the facilities were great.

The ‘view’ they said we’d have, and were asked to wait to check in for was questionable as it was a view of the back of a building.

Perfect for Gare de Lyon.We had a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower and much more, it was an amazing view of Paris. Very friendly staff, well appointed room, comfortable, clean with a nice bathroom and good shower. The evening meal and breakfast were above average and my husband who is a Coeliac was well catered for without fuss.

We stayed two nights and found the hotel clean and well located. The restaurant was relaxed and served delicious food. Both our servers Antoine and Layla were friendly and so welcoming. Highly recommend the burgers which were delicious. Breakfast was also really good with a selection of fresh pastries and omelette made to order. William at front reception was excellent at offering advice on the metro etc. Gare de lyon train station was a three minute walk. Would recommend and would return.

Restroom closed at first floor at late evening and night. No food to the room (room service). Hotel charged me $300 more than my booking.com reservation.

Location

I had a very uncomfortable two-night stay. The room smelled like sewage, and housekeeping failed to change the bed sheets during my stay. To make matters worse, the room phone didn't work, making it impossible to reach the front desk for assistance without walking down to the lobby.

Wifi didnt work. Staff didnt fix it and had trouble on 12th floor room. Wasn't able to work on a business trip

The staff were kind, and helpful. Seems under a lot of pressure but they were very courteous and professional.

The gym is a bit too small

The main highlight is definitely the view — it’s truly stunning and was the main reason we chose this hotel. The location next to Gare de Lyon is also very convenient, especially if you travel by train.The staff were friendly and professional: when we found that our first room had a strong sewage smell and wasn’t properly cleaned, they handled the issue very quickly and changed the room without any hassle.The bed was very comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep.

Overall, the hotel feels overpriced for what it offers. For a rate of 300+ euros per night, expectations are higher.The room felt stuffy, as if there wasn’t enough fresh air.The bathroom was a big disappointment: the “door” is almost non-existent, which is really uncomfortable for couples and offers no privacy.For a four-star hotel, it’s also strange that there are no slippers or bathrobes provided.In a double room, only one set of toothbrush and toothpaste was offered — even though we usually bring our own, this kind of saving looks odd at this price level.

For the price I was expecting a larger room with better facilities. It was also freezing cold in the room. The room was tiny for the price
