Pros +
- Lovely hotel. Great style and friendly staff. Location was easy to find and to access.
- it was clean and designed thoughtfully
- The hotel is very nice - comfortable, somewhat convenient and walkable to different parts of Paris, and very affordable. The staff is great and I found the rooms to be really well-appointed (lots of outlets!) and comfortable during my stay. To be more specific on the locatoin, the hotel is very walkable to the Pantheon and the Luxembourg Gardens and a somewhat longer but manageable walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc. You will probably need to take a train or taxi to farther-flung parts of the city.
Cons -
- Breakfast could have been slightly better in terms of presentation of items.
- the rooms are very small and noisy
- I liked almost everything about the hotel, however I was not crazy about the fragrance of the linens and toiletry products in the bathroom. Everything was heavily scented (read: chemicals) and as someone with severe fragrance allergies, I was nervous the whole time that something would make me break out in hives. (Ultimately, I did break out in hives, though I can't say for sure if it was the hotel products or something else.) Many hotels seem to have started using cleaner products, and I would encourage Hôtel de L'Esperance to do the same. Also, some visitors have said the rooms at this hotel are large for Paris, but if you're someone who plans to spend a lot of time at the hotel, I don't recommend Hôtel de L'Esperance simply because the hotel is quite small and there aren't a lot of spaces to "hang out." I think it's best for someone with a busy travel itinerary who is basically just coming to sleep.

Rue Pascal is a very quiet street near to Rue Moufftard and lots of restaurants. The hotel has been completely remodeled since we last stayed and they were very creative with the use of space in the small rooms, including in the bathroom. The shower was very large for Paris and water pressure and hot water was great. There were plenty of electrical outlets, including by the bedside. The room had a refrigerator and Nespresso machine which we did not use. I would have preferred a hot water kettle, but in the breakfast room there was access to the coffee/hot water machine that was very much appreciated. The generous and tasty breakfast was most definitely worth the extra charge and the back room with natural lighting from the roof was charming and comfortable for a longer breakfast with our friends. Staff was friendly and helpful and it was nice having 24 hour attendance. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
The only suggestion would be for more/better lighting in the rooms.
Breakfast was nice, room felt a bit small and the elevator is in the middle of two floors which was a bit tricky with luggage but no biggie
The tube felt rather unsafe, is a bit tall is there is nowhere to grab or support yourself getting in or out of it
This hotel was, like Goldilocks said, juuuuust right for several days' stay in Paris. The room was small-ish, but, excuse me, it's Paris. It was also clean, the bathroom modern, the breakfasts a great way to start the day, and the location <chef's kiss> excellent. There's a bus stop a block away in one direction, and two blocks away in another, as well as a Metro stop just a few short blocks away. Nearby are several cafes, some excellent restaurants, and just walking in the neighborhood is a joy.
The location is fantastic and it has good restaurants around the property. You can walk around the neighbourhood and visit great places.
The bathroom is too small.
Very convenient location to walk around or access the metro. Morning breakfast was very nice. Had a great two nights sleep on the beds - would stay here again!
A bathtub! Plenty of lighting and retro objects in room. Very comfortable bed. Window opens to scope out neighborhood. Quiet. Loved the breakfast and hotel vibe. Superb location near Latin Quarter.
OK for us but definitely not acceptable for disabled people. Must be able to climb stairs and lug bags.
Clean room and good location. You can use metro to get to main attractions.
Room could be bigger for the price
Good location , friendly staff , very helpful , comfortable
Very small room , noisy
I loved the location, it was quiet and had a cute town square with lots of cafes and fountains. The rooms were clean and the hotel was unique and updated.
Sometimes the front desk workers were not as kind as I would expect. They also have an interesting key system that felt as though maybe anyone could walk in and just ask for keys to any room. That being said we did not have issues during our stay, just food for thought. The breakfast was okay, I probably would have preferred not to pay for breakfast to be included next time.
L’Esperance is a charming hotel with an amazing staff. We were made to feel right at home. While the room was small, it was immaculate and perfect in every way. The location was close to the Metro and restaurants and cafes were plentiful in the area.
Love the location.
I had hoped to take a nap after traveling overnight, but construction/scaffolding was directly outside my window - scrape, tap, bang. The breakfast was just ok.
Location was great close to metro and lots of caffès walking to many interesting areas Notre Dame’s louvre
Good morning breakfast and free water and coffee location very convenient clean and comfortable beds
Location was excellent.
They are remodeling. The workmen were outside our window after check-in and the next morning. Hammer and plaster oh my!!!
The room is a bit small but its clean and quiet. The front desk people is very nice
Convenient location. Nice vibe. Great breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Inconsistent attention to housekeeping and really really thin walls. Ongoing renovations meant ripped up entrance flooring and lots of scaffolding outside my window, making it not so welcoming on arrival. However, nobody seemed too bothered by this. One design irritation is the lack of surface space to put things down on.
Very good breakfast with big variety, salty and sweet things to eat.The room, bedsheets and bathroom were clean.
You have to leave the key to your room in the reception every time you leave - it was kind of weird. The doors are very thin - you can hear everyone leaving their room and also the doors from the bathroom which wakes you up at night.Unfortunately we had ants and insects in our room :/
Nice decor, comfortable and stylish, great location
Pressure in shower could be stronger
