About
Hôtel Château d'Eau In the heart of the 10th arrondissement, in the Faubourg Saint-Denis district, the Touriste group has opened the doors to its latest four-star establishment: the Hôtel Château d'Eau. Largely inspired by the 70s, it gives pride of place to warm, variegated and vibrant colors, all in a cozy and intimate atmosphere. A design by Necchi Architecture, which will draw references from a style rarely seen today

Pros +
- Good location, very close to the metro station. The staff that welcomed us was very friendly and helpful.
- We stayed for two nights starting on New Year’s Eve. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel before check-in, and we received our room on time. The man at the reception was very kind and helpful.Additionally, the hotel is very well located, and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was small but very nicely furnished.
- The staff were very friendly, though the hotel is a little far from the train station and bus stops.
Cons -
- Room a little bit small, but it was ok.
- The room and toilet were on the smaller side. As we stayed on Level 2, it was quite noisy at night due to sounds from downstairs outside, such as people talking, laughing, and music.
- It can be a bit noisy if you are on the streetside, especially on the weekends. It didn’t keep us awake as it was just a steady hubbub that didn’t go much past midnight

Good location, lots of eateries nearby, and close to transport.

Nothing. The room was tiny, it didn't even feature a functional toilet, something that seems FAR below the bar of what you would expect for this "4 star" hotel based on the pictures on booking.com.
No functional toilet, shady and noisy neighbourhood, hard beds, way too expensive, not even the slightest effort from the hotel's management to accomodate a simple and reasonable request (for example providing a room WITH a functional toilet)...
Very professional and polite.
The location is perfect to be close to all your favorite hot spots, the room was very clean! And there is a very nice gym!
The bed was really comfortable
The shower was clogged so the shower overflowed and the room is fully in carpet. Got a replacement room and the shower door didnt close all the way so again the bathroom flooded a bit. The room was only fit for 1 and hard to find space to even open your carry on luggage. They also ask you to leave the hotel card with them due to security and the street outside was really rowdy and loud.
Gorgeous interiors, really comfortable rooms. Rooms a little on the small side but that isn’t unusable for Paris.
The street it was on was quite busy and had a lot of people hanging around on the street all day
Location is very good few meters from Gare de Nord. Sweet tiny room but enough for 2 person. I like the view from the window looking down to the busy streets full of lights in the night.

I stayed at Hotel Château d’Eau, which I chose mainly because I’m an architect and was very intrigued by the newly renovated interiors designed by Studio Necchi. I therefore had very high expectations — unfortunately, they were not met at all.The hotel is undeniably chic and has great potential. The design is thoughtful, with beautiful furniture and well-considered details. However, everything is already in poor condition: it reopened less than a year ago and yet the walls are chipped, the plaster is peeling, the carpet is stained, and there’s an unpleasant sewer smell in the air. It feels like the place has been neglected. The rooms are extremely small, so I decided to upgrade to the “Chambre Privilège” (18 m²), the second most expensive option after the triple room. I expected a bright, comfortable room facing the main street, but instead found a cramped space with low ceilings and a window looking out onto a tiny lightwell with a wall barely half a meter away. The bathroom had no window and no ventilation fan, and the ceiling plaster was literally falling off. The carpet also had large brown stains, which made the room feel even less clean and cared for. There was no proper wardrobe in the room — just a wall-mounted hanger and four hooks. Overall, it was a real disappointment. I didn’t even bother complaining to the staff (who were all very kind and polite), as I was only staying for one night, but in my opinion this hotel does not meet 4-star standards, especially considering the prices they charge. Judge for yourselves from the photos I’ve attached. In addition, the street where the hotel is located is quite sketchy. I’d be afraid to walk back there alone at night.
Loved the details, typography, materials.
Service and Staff
AC didn’t work - was set to heatingBed was two separate matraces
The staff were lovely, the theme of the hotel was beautiful and I especially loved the lounge area downstairs. Loved the bathroom design too!
The shower was too small.
Best location for what we wanted, cool vibe, great staff, clean & well designed.
Location. Within walking distance to both of Paris north/east station. Metro station even closer.
Noisy in night time.
The hotel had a fun aesthetic, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were also kind and welcoming, which made our stay enjoyable!
The room felt quite small, with limited storage for clothing, poor lighting, and an unpleasant odor in the bathroom. If I return to Paris, I’d likely choose a different neighborhood.
The front desk staff was super super friendly and attentive, specially Tom.
The location is AWFUL. Its super dirty, full of loitering, loud people 24/7 and the street smells like pee.The hotel is nothing like the pictures. It’s lacking maintenance and also whoever designed it has no idea what you need for a hotel room. There was no closet, only 3 hangers above the bar. Also there wasn’t even a place to put my things cause it was these weird stairs with decorations. The shower head was broken, so I had to use it as a hand shower the whole time, and also even though I requested a quiet room my room was LITERALLY next to the elevator, I mean literally the room door was always being banged by suitcases from people trying to get into the elevator, and of course I heard all the loud conversations from the movements. I don’t recommend this property at all.
I liked the mirror ceiling in my room.
Honestly....the hotel is just tacky decoration and the rooms are small. And I dont like the neighborhood.
- Nicely furnished hotel and room- Comfortable room and bed- Polite and helpful receptionists- Really good Wi-Fi coverage and speed in the room
- Price is above the average
I loved this hotel. So cute, interiors were amazing, the attention to detail was insane. I loved the touch of the little Diptyque products in the bathroom, felt like a luxury. The bed was so comfortable, and room was very clean.
