Pros +
- Charming modern hotel. Great location. Very nice and helpful staff. Will definitely stay again.
- Super close to the poissoniÃÂère metro line stop, grocery store steps away (mini fridge in the room), WiFi, and quiet- my room faced the courtyard area. Comfortable bed, clean room, cute! The area isn't super touristy but I felt safe walking alone at nig
- Small hotel with only 18 rooms and friendly staff. Easy access to the metro only 2 minutes from the hotel
Cons -
- Sound does travel in the hotel. Doors specifically don¿t block sound.
- I thought breakfast was included but it's an extra charge. Not a dealbreaker though!
- Wifi isn't great

Location and friendly staff
Lift was tiny, couldn’t even get a pram up there or more than one person. Room was right next to the lift so it was noisy and the doors were not soundproof. In room facilities were not great, no fridge, limited TV and minimal space
Great value for money. The place is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops and is conveniently located near a metro station. It has a private washroom and a lift, which made our stay more comfortable. The owner was very helpful and accommodating and even allowed us a 20-minute late check-out. Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free stay.
I wish the towels were newer, as some had a distinct old smell. The toilet bowl could also use more thorough cleaning.

The location was very convenient, which I really appreciated. However, the hotel and the room were both quite small, and it felt a bit cramped.
Small room and during my stay there was constant noise coming from the radiator, which made it difficult to relax in the room.
The hotel is near the metro, groceries and restaurant. It is very accessible.
Bed Bugs in Hotel Montholon!
The place had bed bugs and I got bitten. I was staying in room 66, I checked the sheets and bed for bed bugs on the first night and it seemed clear however, they change the sheets every day. I am unsure what night it happened but it can take a good few days for the bites to appear or even for them to become itchy and noticeable. On the fourth day I noticed some bites in a line after they became very itchy. I confirmed with a couple of friends who were with me in Paris, and had been bitten by bed bugs before, that there were indeed bed bug bites. I also cross-checked the way my bites looked online.I spoke to the hotel receptionist and they immediately denied my claims by saying that they have never had an issue with bed bugs - they were extremely defensive and essentially called me a liar. They did offer me a new room so I just took that instead. He found it strange that I had only gotten bites on the fourth night and not before but they do take a while for them to appear. Before I left I ended up throwing away a bunch of clothes as I didn't want to risk contaminating my home, and the clothes that I did take back I chucked them in a very hot wash. I also took precautions when I was there, from the first night, ensuring that I never left any of my clothes on the bed and storing my suitcase and bag raised on a surface.I would highly recommend that you avoid this hotel if you do not want to risk getting bed bugs. It really isn't worth it as once you get them in your house they can be extremely difficult to get rid of and you may even have to get rid of your clothes. The staff don't seem to care too much either so you won't get any sympathy, even if you have evidence of bite marks.I have put some photos of the bites on the review, however they don't really show how much inflammation occurred after. I hope you do take my warning and find another hotel to stay in Paris!
I really liked the room; it was very clean and had a calm, quiet atmosphere. There was no noise from outside or neighboring rooms, which made it easy to rest and enjoy a peaceful stay. The overall environment was relaxing and ideal for unwinding after a busy day.
The table in the room was too small to comfortably enjoy breakfast, and unfortunately, there was only one chair, which made it inconvenient for a couple. It would have been much better with a second chair to sit together.

Location, window view from my room.
No AC, problem with the sink in the bathroom, water was just stuck there for 20-30 min every time you use the sink
Clean, quiet, in a decent area, friendly and helpful staff. Room was decorated nicely and was clean.
I was surprised at the small size of the room, I know most places in Paris are small but from the photos of the hotel to go from, I expected bigger and with a sort of separate area for my son to sleep. Instead we were all on top of each other. Room was still lovely overall.
The layout of the room was amazing and tastefull, big bathroom, not to close to the bed, which is good for a bit privacy. Although i can imagine for elderly people it is a bit hard to get in and out of the bath. The tiles and edges getting a bit dirty and old. Deep cleaning would do wonders. Location is very good, only two stops from Gare de L'est. Amazing restaurants in the neighbourhood, staff is friendly. Overall clean and spacious. Would definitely come again.
Bed and matrasses move around when you want to sit on the bed to watch tv. That's was annoying, needed to getup everytime to push it back against the wall. Some tiles and edges in the bathroom could be cleaner or use a new layer of kit. But again overall good room.
Fantastic location. Staff were friendly. Beds comfortable. Beautiful playground across the road which is great for little children.
Overpriced for what it is. Doesn't strike me as a three star hotel, would have thought a two star would be more appropriate. Towels quite old and worn. Light switch had a timer and would automatically turn off every few minutes (could have been 5 minutes). Family room was very small and despite staying two nights, would only recommend it for a night if you didn't need to be there during the day.
Staff was very courteous & helpful.
Room could have been bigger. Interior courtyard view was of another building; depressing.
Very good & helpful staff! U grocery store very close: well located between 2 smaller Metro stations.
Room could have been larger. Courtyard view was of another building, with painted windows; depressing.
