Hôtel Aurore Paris Gare de Lyon

It was located close to the train station, as I had an early train to catch.

Hallway smelled awful. The laminate floor was buckeled. The telephone did not work. We had to leave our room key at the front desk every time we left the hotel. We were told it was for security reasons, per the man on duty at 6pm.

Clean tidy room. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Tea, coffee and water in the room, weren't always topped up. Had to ask for them

This was my second stay at this hotel, and it remains a place I truly appreciate. The hotel has 24-hour staff who are always available and incredibly helpful — some of the kindest and most attentive staff I’ve experienced.The luggage storage service is very convenient, which made my trip much easier. The bathroom was clean and well maintained, adding to the overall comfort of the stay.I would definitely be happy to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.

There was a persistent smell of cigarette in the hallway and the room. The room was narrow. I could reach both sides, maybe 2 meters wide. There was a hole that was poorly fixed in the ceiling. The shower was partially clogged

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was spotless and very comfortable, it was also fully equipped. I booked the smallest size room, I was on my own and it was plenty! Booked this hotel last minute as I needed something near train station, very happy I did. Great value and location.

Excellent location, staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were able to check in prior to normal check in times.

Aircon kept switching off so room was cold. The shower head was broken and then vending machine had nothing in it

Our bedding and towels were changed once a day. The location was really good, close to 3 stations, so easy to navigate in any direction with public transport.

Not a negative per say as we had a room on 4th floor, but there is a train line running underneath the hotel, so we could hear the train faintly...just a mention.

Very very dirty, black mold over the entire bathroom ceiling, pealing paint as well. Black mold on the toilet seat and on the majority of the tiles. Black on the bathroom fan. Disgusting. Sleeping on the street would be safer option.The floor in the bedroom has a 4 to 5 inch slant making your head on your bed lower than your feet. It’s that bad a ball rolls at speed from one side to the other.I requested a new room but we did not get one over the 4 nights. The room was apparently cleaned every day, nothing changed except the bed was made.Our dirty laundry that we placed in the corner of our room was put under the blankets on our beds and on top of our pillows. The closet door handle was stuck in the wall of the room and not on the actual door Disgusting Do not stay at this hotel

The room decor was nice and it was clean and comfortable. Great location a stones throw from the station and close to plenty of bars and restaurants without being too noisy. Great shower!

We were initially given a room which hadn’t been cleaned and we had to move. I understand this was an accident but it was a bit unpleasant to initially come into a room that was used and messy/dirty.

The front desk staff were universally super helpful and super kind. Adam and Mila were both standouts! Not only did they all speak excellent English, but they were very knowledgable about the area and were even trying to move mountains to help me get my hair done! The bed was comfortable, shower great, things are currently being renovated, and with the windows closed the sound from the street was almost 0. The abundance of restaurants and patisserie and boulongeries nearby was fantastic!

The property was a good value, however, be reminded that you are in the middle of Paris, steps away from the gare de Lyon and hotel rooms are accordingly smaller than you might expect.

Great little place for our one night stop over near the gare du lyon. The man at the desk was lovely, friendly and helpful.

5 min walk to the train station, nice breakfast buffet and very friendly bilingual staff on the desk that took time and gave us a map to the Paris sites and train system. With the Paris traffic the subway station next door was the best way to get around. There were lots of cafes and restaurants in the area. Very safe neighborhood. Good to have a wall safe.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, with multiple access points to the metro and RER, as well as several bus stops around the property. It’s very easy to get anywhere in Paris from here.The neighborhood feels quite safe, even late at night or early in the morning.Taxis from the airport can drop you off right in front of the hotel, and it’s also easy to call a taxi or Uber from the entrance when heading back to the airport.There is staff available at the front desk 24 hours a day, and luggage storage is provided.The housekeeping staff are very kind — they offer fresh towels even if you choose not to have your room cleaned that day.

One thing to note is that you can hear the rumbling sound of the metro passing underneath from around 5 a.m. until late at night. It wasn’t really a problem for us, though — we noticed it but it didn’t disturb our sleep.
