Cons -
- The room was dirty and outdated. Air conditioning didn't work. I had to ask for a pillow. How this dump gets 3 stars is a mystery, but I certainly won't take the chance on that category again.
- wi-fi problem; very small room
- Booked a superior room, but was placed in the cheapest one; Eventually moved 24-hours later, but noone apologised for their mistake and made me feel like I am the one causing the problem; Rude staff!!! WiFi was not working 70% of the time!!! No kett

Location
It¿s location!
Having to carry our bags up some stairs ( no elevator to last floor)
The bed was dirty. I found hair in the bed. Lots of it. Super disappointed
The location
Location was good but that's about it.
The room was freezing cold and the heating took many hours to make any difference. The bed was old and mattress unsupportive. The shower head needed to be propped against the wall, making it impossible to stand under and shower, had to use as a hand-shower. Being on the 5th floor, the hot water took around 6 or 7 minutes to reach the room!
What I liked about the property was that I had really nice sleep and I loved the location in which the property was. The train station is right outside of the hotel and it’s so easy to get around anywhere in Paris. You can get somewhere within less than 30 minutes by taking the metro so I really enjoyed that.
This hotel is not clean whatsoever. For instance, the showerhead had debris and mold, so I could not take a proper shower. It’s a very old building so if you look up at the ceiling corners of the room, you can see paint fading. The kettle pot in my room was filthy It had old debris of milk that was warmed up in that kettle, so it was a very slimy texture could not use the kettle. The rooms are extremely small, but I will say it is doable. If you are a solo traveler that wants to stay at a good location.Lastly, one of my biggest pet peeves is that there is not someone at the desk 24 seven especially after 9 PM and if there’s no one at the front desk, you literally have to either ring the bell from the outside or if you’re on the inside, trying to get out for an early morning flight, you practically have to scream for someone to come downstairs to open up the door. So I’d highly suggest that they work on having someone either sit there 24 hours so that I can accommodate all guest at all times because no one wants to be stuck coming in or out of the building during late hours or early mornings of the night.
Great Location for Montparnasse train connections , and quiet and clean!
The bed was very bouncy and since the bed is narrow for 2 people it was a little challenging to share a bed without making the other person bounce when one moves or gets out of bed.
Well located for Montparnasse and for Odessa Street ... crepes were amazing! Warm! Clean!
All the staff at the front desk were nice. The space itself was functional (the room safe was a nice bonus). There are good restaurants and cafés nearby, including an excellent Thai place. Overall, super location within Paris and for public transportation.
My room faced the street where partiers from a nearby nightclub would pour out at 4-5am and whoop it up. There's nothing the hotel can do about it, of course, but if you're a light sleeper -- consider. The shower only has an all-in-one shampoo/conditioner/bodywash dispense, so you might want to bring your own stuff.
I used to stay at the Berkeley in the early 1990s. In fact I think I stayed in one of my regular rooms from back then. It has been upgraded a little, but not much, so it was all very familisar.
Wifi was poor.
The location was not bad
I was quite shocked at the reception area -the whole hotel is small and pokey. No proper amenities - The room was dirty and so very small that you could hardly move in it. If I had to stay another night I would have moved out. Please do not send people there, its so disappointing. There is no customer service at all. Whoever owns that hotel is just making money without investing in the property.
Location handy for Montparnasse station and Metro. Very close to wide choice of restaurants.
Decor very tired and dull in bedroom. There was a hole in the one net curtain, marks on the wall, two bulbs in light fittings not working, including the bedside light. Bathroom was clean, but no shower gel in bath dispenser. Only one bath towel provided, expected hand towel as well.
Quite central. Balcony on request.
Not much choice at breakfast. Only sweet stuff.
Decent location and pretty quiet
The room was small, damp, smelled bad, and was very basic.
Central location
Aircon didn’t work, noisy from outside Bars and street
I chose the location as I wanted something close to Gare Montparnasse - this is a 3 minute walk, so very convenient. Elevator available - unless you get put on 6th floor (you walk up one set of stairs from fifth floor). Staff were helpful and available 24/7. I was able to leave my bags at the front before checking in (I pretty much dropped it off at 9:30 AM and came back at 10 PM to check in without any issues) and then later when I checked out.
The air conditioning /filtration was very weak. It hardly did anything and I was better off just opening the window. If anything, my throat started to itch/nose was stuffy when I turned it on, which is likely due to some ventilation/filtration issue like excess dust, etc. Perhaps this is why the French claim AC makes you sick!
I gave the big happy face about the night clerk who also happened to be the morning clerk. He was friendly and kind and generous.
Room? I’ve seen automobile trunks bigger that that room. I’m joking but the room was literally a squeeze. I’m traveling alone but if I had a companion on this trip the room surely would have been too small.
