Bastille Hostel

The staff was exceptional! For friendliness and information given, it ranks like a 5-star hotel! Even the graveyard shift gentleman was very pleasant. A 5-min walk to the nearest Metro, and an easy 10-min walk to the Gare de Lyon. Great Value for the $.

Coffee was terrible and the wifi connection in the room was very weak. But I would still highly recommend this hostel to budget conscientious travelers in Paris.

Able to check in fairly late. Hostel was clean, room comfortable and quiet. Basic breakfast provided. Convenient location for a short stay - near Gare de Lyon.

Hostel information says that people staying must be under 30. I had not noticed this in the booking requirements, but was allowed to stay anyway. I think about a third of the people staying there were over 30! But if this is a requirement, it could be made clearer on booking.com.

The location is convenient and easy to reach.The booking process itself was straightforward, and check-in staff were present on arrival.The property seems active and busy, which may suit a very young, hostel-oriented audience

The accommodation was presented as a hotel, but it is in fact a youth hostel with very specific conditions that were not clearly highlighted before booking.The room conditions did not meet expectations (cleanliness, strong smell, no private bathroom, and no heating).Important restrictions (age limit, room access hours, comfort level) were only fully understood upon arrival

No toilet on the floor my room was on. Plastic cover on mattress. Fitted sheet on mattress was too small.

Location and value for the price in a city like Paris

Only one toilet for two floors with at least 4 rooms each is not enough. And very disrespectful guests should be better handled. Some quite noisy and even scarily violent.

A simple, very clean, and well-located hotel with very helpful staff and excellent value for money.

Everything was very good.

Is very important to understand my reasons to rate as I did. I was searching for a place to sleep, only a night with a minimum of comfort. Crew very friendly and the guests I crossed also friendly. Clean and very quiet. I requested a single room, was perfect for my usecase. Surely will be there once I be in Paris again.

The room was for the pipes that connect the toilet outlets every time one was flushed you heard it in the room. There was also a foul smell in the room I opened the window and left it open all the time I was there but the smell never went away, I don’t think I have ever been in a worse room and thankfully it was only one night.

The location was excellent, and the room was really good for the price. Just as expected, would recommend to young adults!

Breakfast was a little bit underwhelming, but to have anything included in a low price is good regardless.

Great location about ten minutes on foot from Gare de Lyon, the room had a bed, sink and a nice shower, but the toilets are shared. Last person out of the room has to leave the key at the desk but that wasn’t a problem seeing as there was always someone at the reception. I stayed one night between connecting trains and it was perfectly comfortable for that, and half the price of surrounding hotels.

The rooms aren’t that pretty and the mattress could have been better quality, but I had no trouble sleeping, so it’s reasonable for the price. Great for short stays, and I probably wouldn’t have minded up to a week either.

They offered complementary breakfast, coffee was good, we had a good room for a reasonable price.
