Hôtel Océanic - Grands Magasins

Meticulously clean hotel. Staff was very nice.

Walls are thin and there is a train that runs until about 8pm that is near enough to feel, but not so loud that sleep was impacted.

It was right next to the train station and had a bigger room than normal Paris rooms.

The elevator only goes to the 5 th floor and our room was on the 6th.

Loved the location, close to San Lazare train station, close to Galeries Lafayette and Opera Garnier. So much to do in 8th arr! The front desk people were extremely welcoming, nice and helpful! Breakfast is yummy!

There was no soap holder in the shower, little thing, but pretty annoying ugh lol

The rooms were not very soundproof so you could hear other guests in other rooms.

Noisy hotel in general .Having asked for quiet room we were near lift which seemed to operate all night . Then cleaners started very early in other rooms making load noises and chatting in corridor.On leaving the room for the lift going down for breakfast we had to climb over and around cleaning equipment and furniture taken out from other rooms along corridor.

Breakfast bar a bit tight . Need for a change of lay out . Coffee was good, great machine ( Jura ) but need for 2 or another way to provide hot water for those who drink tea. Queue built up

The room was very nice and clean, lots of mirrors which I appreciate cause we were 3 women :) The staff was lovely and respectful. The location is great as well. I would stay here again.

I think the key system is outdated, it can be replaced with a card system which would allow us to keep the key with us rather than leave it at the reception every time. I also think the deposit is unnecessary and leaves a bad impression, I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels before and they never require such deposits.

Hotel was generally very good. Only two areas to address for room 601.1) shower drain poor2) you provided coffee/tea, but no milk.

Liked the hotel environment, good location.

It greatly disrupted our stay due to poor communication regarding the deposit and even deception. The receptionist took the deposit both in cash and by card. We never got the 100 euros back. We were unable to clarify the situation with the administration; they could not review the cameras because the 14-day retention period had expired.

Very comfortable pillow and bed. Big and sunny ☀️ room. The staff is very friendly and polite.

A lot a noise from everywhere - from the upper floor, from the neighbours and from the street. Additional noise from the subway.

Average hotel with a very good location, with excellent public transport connections, but also many nice places can be reached on foot. The rooms look renovated. Personnel was nice, though sometimes one single person had to do receptionist job, open the entrance door and help with the breakfast.

Noise coming from the hall and the neighbouring rooms, and if you happen to have inconsiderate neighbours, they can keep you up until very late... Breakfast was a little difficult to understand: there was one single machine for coffee and hot water and milk and making one coffee lasts for minutes... there were always many things missing at breakfast, not for 5, but for 25 minutes. scrambled eggs were horrible, I don't think they ever saw eggs. I absolutely do no recommend to pay breakfast here, just go to a café nearby.

Our room was the perfect size with a big bed and bathroom and easily accessible via the lift. The location was great and we could walk to most places or get the metro nearby.

The breakfast room was quite chaotic and didn’t seem big enough for the size of the hotel. We had to keep asking for things to be refilled and waiting for all the other guests who were ahead of us.

This was one of the few properties in Paris that I could find with 2 separate beds (that were not pushed together) and a private bathroom, suitable for travelling with my mum. Staff were fantastic, room was clean and comfortable.

The 8th arrondissement in general is not my preferred location to stay in Paris, but very close to Gare Saint-Lazaro making it easy to get where we wanted to go.
