Pros +
- Great old world charm
- I stayed here before and chose this hotel again because of its authentic character and very friendly staff. The location is perfect . The value for money is really excellent!
- The location was excellent, we were able to walk to most of the places. The service was good- the room was clean and spacious for 3 of us. A lot of restaurants close by to enjoy global cuisine. We enjoyed the stay.
Cons -
- I didn't expect the wall between the rooms to be so thin. It was no trouble this time, but it would be unlucky with noisy neighbors.
- The hotel is an old building, the stairs were narrow plus has no lift so may be hard for aged people and people with difficulty to climb, we were in the 5th floor!!
- The property, inside with narrow steps and on the first day we arrived at night. There was no complimentary water in the room. No concierge service. They close at 8:00 pm and the guests have no communication with anyone. It was really bad on the first day. The second day she offered water.

The lady at the reception was very kind, helpful and understanding.

Location, old building with interesting stairs and architecture, The lady at reception was very nice. Comfortable and clean bed. To be honest everything in the room but the bathtub trim and shower curtain looked and felt clean including the sink, toilet and bed. A bit of tender loving care would make it much nicer, particularly considering the price of the room
Fortunately the shower curtain was changed after I complained about it being very filthy-looking. Full of accumulated soap residue. There was mold around the bathtub (but I had read about that in a previous review), Charging 15 euros per night for city tax is very expensive (even for Paris)
Closed to Notre DameCleanGood neighborhood
Spacious, quiet room with old-Paris atmosphere and charm, old wooden ceiling beams, a quirky shape reflecting the historic building, a sense of being in real Paris (as opposed to Corporate Paris). Great comfortable bed and pillows, and even a peek from the window at the top of one of Notre Dame's towers. Warm, friendly host made our arrival that much better.
No lift, no hint in ad. Bad knee made it difficult. No coffee maker, no fridge (First World whines). Room temperature not adjustable—fine for me, my wife got a bit cold. Breakfast available, but learned guests must order the previous day (we left too early to order and got back too late to order). No problem after we found Bertrand's patisserie two blocks away. You can pay in advance for daily breakfasts, which sound really good and are probably a better deal than anywhere else in the city.
Staff was super friendly, accommodated our late check in with really clear instructions. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
Winding stairs were little difficult to go up with luggage.
I loved the area. So close to cool neighborhoods like Latin Quarter, Le Marais and La Halles. Also was intriguing to stay in such an ancient place.
Very clean and quiet. Loved the historical nature of the place. Character galore. Very nice staff too.
The staff was amazing and very helpful on guiding us to get around!! We were directly across the street from Norte Dame. Great location, comfy bed and super quite neighborhood.
All good!
Big bedLocation very good Friendly staff
Bathroom stankHallways stankStairs very old and tight space, hard to navigate especially with any kind of suitcase
Great location. Nelly, the receptionist was friendly and fun to practice my French with.
Bathroom - no electric socket, bath tile old and worn.
Very nice cozy room that's not location
They do need more light in the room. A light on the desk would be helpful. That's all.
A great location, very close to Notre Dame. I could see it from my window. The coffee was good in the morning and the staff was very limited, but helpful. This hotel has been there since the early 1700's.
The stairs are very narrow and steep climb to the rooms. I am in fairly good shape, but be prepared to carry your own luggage up several flights of stairs. The key for the room weight about 1 lb. Hard to carry along in my small purse. Also, my room had low beams. Anyone over 5' might have a serious issue. The second room was nicer and had a decent shower. My room only a very high and large tub. Could call this experience charming if you are a 25yr old, short person!
The room was very cute and surprisingly spacious. The bathroom was a good size—I appreciated having two sinks. The location is very nice!!
The lack of lighting in the room really made it difficult to go through luggage and organize our outfits. I used my phone flashlight nonstop to find things. The room was a bit toasty but opening the windows helped. It was noisy outside but we were so tired it didn’t matter.
Unbeatable location just steps from Notre Dame and plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood.
They gave me clear instructions to enter after the hotel was closed for the night. The breakfast (extra 12 euros) was generous (reservation required)
The stairwell is narrow and winding. If you have trouble with stairs, or a suitcase you cannot lift, it can be difficult getting it to your room.
Very convenient to the center of Paris. Funky, clean old hotel with ages of history and layers of renovations. Staff were super friendly. Accommodations were good for the location and price. Expect an old building with narrow staircase and potentially LOTS of steps to your room. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, bathroom.somewhat recently updated, and room nice and quiet.
Steps...good exercise though.
It's a very small room, but it's also a budget room. It is right by the Notre Dame cathedral and river which was nice, pretty centrally located.
The room is tiny and so was the shower.
The location is fantastic! We loved being so close to Notre Dame. The staff were very friendly. We felt safe with the extra locked door too.
The shower seemed to have mold growing. It was on the small side too.
