    Pros +

    • Super friendly staff and good location, close to metro, train and bus. Lots of shops and bars/restaurants nearby.
    • The room was so clean and fresh. We had our own shower but not bathroom. The location was amazing so close to everything and the neighborhood felt very safe too. Nice and helpful staff
    • The location was really close to several subway line so you could get basic anywhere big in Paris in about 20 minutes which is nice. The location was also very safe which is always good, despite what it may seem. Cleaning services came every day made everything all nice.

    Cons -

    • The small lamp in the room wasn't working properly and the shower came loose once.
    • The walls were so thin so you could hear everything but there were not a lot of guest staying because it was not really tourist season so that was great!
    • The room I was given was literally the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. It was essentially a hallway turned into a room. Very little space. Also there was no elevator so you have to walk up as many floors as your room is on.

I like the location it was nearby metro and you can walk anywhere also

The stairs, the staires and the staires, too much of them, and very hard to carry the bags, and having bathroom out of room, and the noise from the other rooms.

It’s very close to center and very close to metro Station

Room and bathroom is too tight

Nice staff. Breakfast was better than expected and they catered to my food sensitivities. Bed was comfortable.

Airport transfer not operating and not advertised and it was super tight spaces. Otherwise it was ok!

The breakfast was very complete and tasty. The bathroom was tiny and hard to shower/change in. We did not figure out if it had AC or how to work it, so it was a bit hot despite opening the window. The property did not have elevators, so even though we were on the second floor, it was a bit hard to carry the suitcases. Despite everything, I think that we got our money's worth and I would stay there again. In the street where it's in, there are many Asian restaurants, it is pretty close to the train station, and there are many places to eat and shop nearby.

Each time we walked out of the hotel we had to leave the room key card with the front desk person, which I did not understand the purpose of.

It’s a tiny hotel but Location excellent and the price was right for a very short transit stay. There is no elevator and no ac…but the staff gave me a room on first floor with a huge bathroom and fan which kept the room cool… if you just want a bed and easy to Gare st Lazare!, it’s perfect for the price I paid!

No elevator and no ac… but was very comfortable with the fan! And they gave me a room on 1 floor.

    1KarmenPosted on: 7-14-2025

Location. Just couple of minutes from Gare St Lazare.

Could not sleep at all because of the heat (no aircondition, just fan), the noise from the street and the building itself (people walking and screaming all night long, cars passing by; cardboard-like walls). If you are a tall person like me, you do not fit in the small shower.

the location was good but the rest…

5th floor but there was no elevator.the room was extremely small.the breakfast was always the same thing and with poor quality

Ok dear review readers, let me rectify here some former reviewers. When you come to Paris, and you find availability in simple hotel like Louvain, just grab it for the price and for its location and go out and enjoy the city! They provide towel why would others say they dont? Room was clean, yes no elevator, so if it’s a dealbreaker don’t come but stop criticizing. If you expect 5* hotel for hostel price, you are the one not in line with reality for Paris. What else you need its in a calm street next to every single criteria what we can look for a city stay…And the staff is just amazing, professional and kind. Can’t thank them enough for going beyond expectations to contact me. Special thanks to Beatrice <3.

Maybe a little bottle of water in extreme hot days could be a plus plus :) and more then welcomed by guests.

The breakfast was decent with plenty to eat. Fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs would have been a nice addition. The location was excellent...close to the metro, train station and shopping. Loved the big, luxurious bathroom towels!

The stairs were narrow and difficult to navigate with a suitcase. There was no AC and it was quite warm.

    8GreenPosted on: 6-17-2025

This hotel is perfectly located near the train station and the metro. It was a walkable distance to many of the historic locations in the city. There are plenty of eating options near the hotel as well. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They stored our luggage for us on our last day so we could continue seeing more sites before taking the train to Le Havre. The breakfast was wonderful with a lot of good options. Would definitely stay again if ever in Paris.

Small elevator and fairly steep winding staircase. Not really a problem for us though.

horrible. hotel not clean. no elevator and put me 60 year old on top floor with no luggage assistance on 95 degree day. roomhad no AC just tiny fan the size of a tea mug. no towels!!!!! refused to change my rooms. I’m asking for a refund but being refused. it is a health and safety issue and I’m escalating the matter. room was not clean. See here from hotel listting description: "Comfortable Accommodations: Hotel Louvain in Paris offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, city or inner courtyard views, and modern amenities including free WiFi, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs." - Not true! NO TOWELS, NOT CLEAN, NO AC. VIEW OF SCAFFOLDING, 95-100 DEGREES FARENHEIT!

see all of the above. everything about it was awful and the desk personnnel was surly and unhelpful

very good location. you get what youpay for.

there are no locks or bolt locks on the door, it’s just an automated lock. the doors have numpad locks which was kinda odd and made me feel unsafe

I had a nice stay overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful — they even offered to help me with my luggage before check-in, which I appreciated. The room was clean, and I loved that the bathroom was modern and up to date. The rooms are quite small, but I honestly didn’t mind — it’s Paris, and I’m just here to sleep. I also liked the area; it felt convenient and pleasant. One thing to note: there’s no elevator, and the stairs are narrow. The building is quite old and could definitely use some upgrades — I even noticed a broken window. Still, it’s understandable given the age of the place.Overall, I’d give it a 7 or 8 out of 10.

    Location?

Almost everything. The staff ( specifically the man who is on the front in the morning) is one of the rudest people I’ve ever seen. The stairs are awful and there’s no elevator, they said in the comments that they would help with the luggage but in the early morning of my flight they refused to help me. I almost missed my flight. The stair are not normal stairs. They are crooked and net even. One of the worse experiences I’ve had with hotel and hotel staff. I’ve added a pic of the man who gave me such a hard time cause I couldn’t post a video of the interaction.
