Mandarin Oriental Paris

This hotel is excellently located in a beautiful area of the city very close to the Place Vendome. The service in this hotel was exceptional and the best Mandarin oriental that I have ever stayed in. Nothing was ever to much trouble and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy with everything from check in, drinks in the bar, remembering our names, outstanding breakfast again with great staff. A particular mention to the door staff who remembered our names and what plans we had for the day, even taking our shopping to the room for us. We will definitely be back!

The staff in the hotel were unbelievable, what fantastic service! The swimming pool was fabulous.The Hotel was also in a great location.

Good location for designer shopping

Service on everything was very slow and poor.The house keepers don’t understand you and when cleaning the room they took my Tax back form and my sons new Hunter wellies, along with an expensive bikini bottoms. The hotel pool is poor and no one is ever in it because there is no where to relax and lay down round it.

I have stayed at many MOs around the world. The standard of service, attention to detail and quality was nowhere near the appropriate level. Bar awful. Breakfast room noisy and service slow. Housekeeping sloppy.

We arrived past the normal check in time and our rooms were still not ready. The staff didn’t seem too bothered about it, like it’s normal, which was weird in a 5-star hotel. The F&B outlets are horrible. We had breakfast at the Camelia restaurant every morning, it would be a joke even in a 3-star hotel. Service is incredibly slow, they forget about bringing you items that you order (don’t worry, they don’t forget about adding them to your bill!), restaurant was half empty most of the times and they say they are fully booked, come back in half an hour! Staff in this restaurant seems to hate their job and the customers. The bar is not much better either, they mixed up our orders and generally very slow and unorganized also.

Although the hotel was newly opened, as far as I know after 2010s, the furniture and the hotel seemed much worn.

Staff, from check in through every facet were extremely friendly and efficient. Special thanks to Astrid who checked us in, took us to our suite and ran through the equipment and facilities with us. A very nice bottle of Champagne was waiting for us on arrival in the suite.The location is great, a short walk from the Louvre. The concierge personnel were very helpful and keen to help in any way they could. In room entertainment is all Bang and Olufsen. That speaks for itself.Truly a Five Star experience.

Nothing really. We were very disappointed when the room cleaning personnel took our chocolate Eiffel Tower which we had only started to eat. We were out when they came to the room so obviously we couldn't stop them.

a five start hotel like MO should have the basic standards in place: Heatning for towels is not to be off, tv is to always work, phone is to be answered or at least call back in a reasonable amount of time. Why do we call the balcony ‘a terrace’ ? All in all it is a great hotel but not a great value for money!

Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Paris was, as usual for the hotel brand, exceptional. From the kind gentlemen at the entrance to the welcoming staff at the reception and concierge desks, the service was truly excellent. The cleanliness, location and service was the typical brilliant standard for MO.

Although we would have preferred a breakfast buffet like that in MO Bodrum, we enjoyed their breakfast menu nevertheless.

In fact, the only advantage was the location - location is perfect. The staff wasn't so nice, expect only to the gentleman who brought the suitcases and gentlemen at the door they are really nice.

Paid WIFI? Really? You have to pay for WIFI which is for my absolutely unbelievable, 5 star hotel in Europe in 21st century and you have to pay about 1500,-Euro per night and you have to pay extra for internet ?! OMG- NO way!!I expected much more from Mandarin Oriental. Room was not good not bad- they will need renovation soon. I know Mandarin Oriental in different cities for SPA, but there is none zone for relax, you can swim or you can go for massage but you can't just relax after that, because there is not relax area... So there is spa but without spa. I can't understand that... In Paris you can find lots of hotels, so you can try another one and it will be definitely much better...

The location

The room we stayed in smelled like sewage. It was horrible. We couldn’t stay for 5 min in the room. We immediately called the front desk to change the room. They changed our room to a mandarin room. The view was really bad, windows were looked and removed handles.And the bathroom was the worst. I have a video of the noises that we hear every time we use the wash room/ shower or toilets. It was very uncomfortable. We couldn’t sleep. The noise stays for 30 min, for. 5 star hotel and the amount we are paying its really bad. At the hallway next to the elevator, there was this waste paper(picture attached) was on the floor for 1 full day. The next morning the paper is still in the same place. The following morning the paper was removed and placed on the sanitizer handle. My husband swore if he came at night and found the paper he will remove it himself. The staff passed by it without even caring. It stayed there for three days. We came to celebrate our 10 year marriage anniversary, and it was the worst experience as mentioned above. Not going to stay or recommend the property to any of my friends or family.
