Hôtel De Venise

Great location for Gare du Lyon and Metro to the major sights. Compact rooms but well designed. Good lighting for reading in bed. Very nice modern bathroom and great walk in shower. Friendly and helpful staff.

The exterior does not look very promising on approach. The safe in the room is not very safe at all.

The hotel was clean and the room comfortable. The bathroom was clean. Everything were great and very good proximity to Gare du Lyon. Also, the gentleman in the reception was very very useful and kind. Thank you will stay again next time I. Paris.

Réception staff was extremely helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations and advice to safely and efficiently travel around Paris.

Breakfast was substantial by French standards but the selection of eggs could have been better - not just soft boiled. Warm, scrambled eggs would have been a better option for Anglo tourists.

Wonderful small hotel in a not touristy part of the 12th, but with easy access to the metro, Gare de Lyon and the Bastille. Clean, basic rooms, nice breakfast. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good value.

Located close to the Gare de Lyon. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect for a couple of backpackers if you are looking for no frills located near a transportation hub including the Metro.

Staff was great, especially the gentlemen getting us situated. Location and value is also really great, especially if you're planning for a Disneyland trip. Room is small but clean.

For a two star hotel, the Hotel de Venise hits way above the mark. My room was small but quiet and very comfortable, especially the bed. The neighborhood was great, a little off the beaten track but I like that! The hotel is off a circle with a lovely park with fountain with restaurants all around and the wonderful Coulee Verte is very nearby. Gare de Lyon is also within easy walking distance. The staff are wonderful. When my flight home was cancelled, they were very kind and let me sit in a quiet room off the lobby to make plans and do some work.

I was completely happy with my stay.

Relatively spacious for a Paris hotel! Great residential neighborhood about a 15 min walk from Gare de Lyon, close to a couple of metro stops so easy to get to anywhere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice bakery across the street

Walls were a bit thin, so if you want to sleep in you’d need to be a heavy sleeper.

Loved the location. Turn left of it and you are in a small plaza with restaurants and an excellent boulangerie. Turn right and then right again, there is a metro station (Reuilly - Diderot, line 1, the one to La Defense).Staff: friendly & helpful.The room was small, but clean, with a large bathroom and all new fittings. Water was available at the reception. For a two star hotel, it is more than ok.

The room was appropriate size considering Paris. The hotel and the room was clean. The staff was nice. Breakfast ok, couple of thigs to choose from. The location is not the best if you are aiming towards city highlights, however the zone is nice and I was travelling for work which was nearby, so for me excellent location.

Unfortunately, there were some stains here and there on bed clothing which I saw was washed and fresh, however it is not nice noticing this when lying down to bed although I understand those were "washed off". The toilet is set way too high, I am 185cm and i was touching ground with front half of feet, so not very comfortable, although clean. The breakfast - this was not clear to me - but also from Booking.com side - couldn´t clearly see if they are included or not. Finally, I had to pay on top when checking out, 10eur per breakfast = 20 for two night stay - as I said it was fine, but maybe I would opt to go out and take some pastry in nearby boulangeries instead of paying 10eur for yoghurt and muesli which I usually have.

Staff were welcoming and engaging. Location was wonderful...away from train traffic but walkable to gare de lyon. Many local restaurants that were good value and near metro.

Probably the most friendly hotels I've stayed in, the staff were very welcoming, efficient, friendly, chatty and helpful, both my wife and I remarked on how nice it was. I met three of the staff and it was almost as if they were from the same family. The hotel is well situated with plenty of good bakeries, restaurants and transport close by. It's a relatively quiet street so not noisy which is a plus in Paris.I've lived in Paris for 6 years so know it well, we now live in Marseille so chose this because it was close to Gare de Lyon. The internet was high-speed and good quality, a great bonus. We will definitely be staying here again.
