Pros +
- The location is great next to all the major attractions in paris. Also close to the metro station. Naiima is on staff there and she did a great job taking care of us. All the staff were really great. Breakfast was very good.
- Centrally located and in a relatively quiet street whilst still in the heart of Paris. The staff are very kind and helpful! The property in itself is a little dated but if you don't care for modern taste and want a safe, comfortable, decently clean place - this is it.
- The proximity to the metro, restaurants and stores
Cons -
- The rooms are a bit old, but well kept
- The elevator is very small so may not be suited for those who suffer from claustrophobia.
- The air conditioning is not an option if you are there in months with an R - lol I don’t know but don’t ask they don’t have it, I think the government shuts it down or something just kidding. Well it was chilly at night which was fine but the first few nights were warm - and I opened the windows which overlooked a small enclosed area the breeze was cooling. The 300 mosquito bites I’ve acquired not so much. I wish I was kidding about that. Anyway loved the hotel very nice . A fan of George Sand and it’s also close to her Paris apartment which I recommend checking out.

A gem!
The Hotel George Sand Opéra Paris is a rare gem among the hotels in Paris. Friendly, helpful, accommodating staff, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and bedding, and an excellent location make for a warm and memorable experience. Special thanks to Laeticia for her message of welcome and thoughtfully making a room change!
Staff was really polite and friendly, helpful whenever we needed them.
The building is really outdated, needs a total renovation process. There was an awful smell starting from the elevator and it was all over in our room aswell. We had couple of dirty towels and pillow sheets and there was actually a blood stain in one of the pillow sheets. From time to time there was a urine smell in the room.
Central location close to multiple metro lines. Quiet. AC worked well
WiFi was horrible and almost unusable. Dated with squeaky floorboards and grime. Shower wasn’t great. Toilet felt crammed
Loved that there was an elevator and in a quiet area so you did not hear noise at night. The Room was very spacious and had great storage for hanging clothes.
Did not like that you had to walk through the 2nd bedroom to get to the bathroom. Our daughter kept getting woken up each time we had to use the bathroom during the night. You could not see because it was dark, and the light switch was outside the bathroom. Hairdryer was broken first day we got there and had to ask for a new one. And the soap dispenser near bathroom sink was empty until we had to ask for it to be filled. This should be part of housekeeping inspection when new guests arrive.
Location, air conditioning is very quiet and room was cold
It’s very old. You can hear the metro/subway from room 104. Bathroom needs a renovation.
Bed was very comfortable. Nice and quiet without any noise issues sleeping at night.
A bit too old and hasty overall. Bathroom shower only has less than less of screen partition, water leaking out to the floor after shower no matter how careful.
The front desk staff did a great job. Very friendly. Willing to speak with me both in French and English. Check-in very smooth. Appreciated champagne in room though we didn’t have time to drink it! The family room was great to allow additional sleeping room, though a little disruptive to have to access bathroom at night.
The interior view into the center of building provides no view which is fine but the very loud fan that kicks on precludes opening the window as it is very loud.
The staff was exceptional in providing service. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Coffee is available all day and is very tasty. The hotel is within walking distance to many sites to visit. It is also a minute walk to a hop-on-hop-off buss. A very enjoyable place to stay.
The location was amazing for walking and quick transit to all the attractions on our list. We had such a warm welcome upon checkin. Sabrina was exceptional and made us feel at home. Our room was clean and very comfortable.
The bathroom was quite small and the room key cards stopped working several times but the staff was very helpful in fixing it.
The room was spacious and well appointed. But not worth it.
Staff was weak. We were an hour early and asked if our room was ready by chance. Automatic no from woman on desk. We saw another employee who actually asked housekeeping and we were able to get in.Lobby area is really thrown together - more like a hostel than a nice hotel near opera house, breakfast area cramped and got me to change mind on having it there.Room was spacious, but expensive. The WiFi barely worked. The elevator was busted at checkout so we had to drag luggage down five flights. No help from desk other than a shrug and an assurance that a maintenance company had been called to fix. Thanks a lot!Front desk tried to help with veggie restaurant suggestions but wanted to send us to a cooking school that only does events on weekends.
The room was really spacious, clean and really nice. The staff left a handwritten note to welcome us which was really kind.
Staff was very helpful, location was good and rooms were large.
Really Old building with - tiny lift (1 person plus small luggage). Bathroom tub was very slippery and leaked water from the tub to the floor (nothing major that can’t be fixed with a towel)
Very good sized room by Paris standards, in a super location. Staff very helpful. Good value relative to other hotels in the area.
The location was ideal for what we needed. There are lots of Metro RER stations around.
The lift was small but that is what is to be expected in a small French hotel in an old building.
Great breakfast and location
Very squeaky bed
Location was superb, just couple minutes walking to opera and printemps, easy for hanging out. Also close to main metro and train station, make it faster to access to disney and versaille.Staff was nice and helpful.
As the hotel is very close to train station, there will be train passing by during day time. It seems to be stopped during 11 pm to 6 am, which is sleeping time. If you are not that sound and safe on sleeping, be cautious to pick this hotel.
The only good thing about the hotel was the location. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. At our last morning, some other guest in our floor smoked weed and the corridor was smelling terrible.
The hotel was very old, and the cleaning was not proper. Unfortunately the breakfast was a total disappointment. My son did not eat anything, me and my husband only ate at the first day. The coffee was also terrible. At our
