About
Hotel Tiziano is set in a 15th-century building in the Dorsoduro district, a short walk from San Nicolò dei Mendicoli Church. All rooms are furnished in a characteristic Venetian style. Tiziano's rooms overlook the narrow street of Calle di Rielo or the Terese Canal, and each features red and golden drapes and warm rustic tapestry. All air conditioned, they also come with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Guests can start their morning with a breakfast, including fresh bread and fruit. Tiziano Hotel is just 492 feet from the IUAV Architecture Academy and a 5-minute walk from the San Basilio Vaporetto (water bus) stop.

Pros +
- Breakfast is good, service is very nice & receptive, room size medium-large, bidet in washroom, clean.
- Extremely helpful staff. Quickly answered email inquiries prior to our visit and made our stay as stress free as possible.
- The location was away from the crowds and close to the train station.
Cons -
- They lock the door after 11 pm but there is a receptionist working, you may have to knock on the door for a bit for them to hear you though.
- Nothing to critique about the hotel but Venice itself can be quite intimidating for first time visitors hauling luggage. Don¿t despair though. After the initial shock of water taxis and cobblestones it is quite easy and inexpensive to get around.
- The room was dirty with spider webs hanging from the ceiling. Sold us the wheelchair accessible room as a standard room. Bedding was minimal and uncomfortable. Furnishing was old. Would not recommend.

Clean rooms, quiet neighborhood and the guy at the front desk is really nice ! The breakfast was ok, a good value for the price.
At breakfast, my family and I seated on an empty table and the waiter was bothered she had to get the table ready (adding forks/knifes/plates). She seemed to complain a lot to do a very simple job… besides from that, the stay was very nice and the rest of the staff friendly.
The hotel was very clean, in a good location that was quiet but within reasonable walking distance to St Mark’s square. Staff were excellent and very helpful in getting transfers arranged. Breakfast was very good & priced well.
Bed & pillows were way too hard, like sleeping on a board. Room was a little warm, AC worked but not as well as we like.
We enjoyed the cleanliness and design of the room, the fact it looked freshly refurbished, and the ample bathroom. The location, a bit tucked away, is a 20-min walking distance to the train station (Santa Lucia) and very quiet, as it is a residential area. The staff was helpful and welcoming. We were allowed to leave our suitcases in the hotel after check-out, for a last walk around the city before catching our train.
Our room wasn't ready for a while even after check-in time, which was a bit disappointing as we were quite tired after a long flight, but after some time the staff managed to locate an alternative room for us.
Loved being in a neighborhood, rather than in tourist locations. Ate several meals at neighborhood restaurants.
Top floor of hotel very hot.
We liked that it was far enough away from crowds but close enough to walk to everything we wanted to see.
The air conditioning in the room was very cold.
Friendly staff, good lobby and amenities, spacious room and quiet location
The bed is very thin and feels cheap, not comfortable. Same with the pillows. The Wifi barley worked on my room, I don't know if it's because I was on another building different than the "Hotel Tizano" main buildingThe bathroom extraction grille was full of white mold and looked disgusting. The AC didn’t worked and when I open the AC grille they where full of dust and dirt
Overall, quite a disappointing stay and not the level of comfort I expected.
Unfortunately, my experience here was not great. The staff at reception were not very customer-focused and didn’t seem interested in helping with issues. The junior suite had a lot of mosquitoes, and the room was extremely hot, making it uncomfortable to sleep. One of the nights, there was also a loud noise coming from the pipes throughout the night, which made it very difficult to rest.
clean hotel and room, very polite staff, very accomodating
AC didn't work.
Location was awesome. Right on one of the smaller canals in the University area; away from the tourist crowds, but plenty of restaurants. An easy walk and an even easier vaporetto ride to San Marcos, shopping, and other attractions. Staff was very helpful in all respects. Nice breakfast. A very romantic Venetian holiday!!
The upside of being on the canal was the whole Romantic Venice Experience vibe. The downside was mosquitos -- a minor inconvenience.
Great location - close to everything, but quiet. Lovely views, pleasant staff. The management also set up a direct water taxi transfer from the airport, which was great for our first time in the city.
There was no air conditioner, which we didn’t think would be an issue in October. It was very warm in the room, however. We opened the windows, but that let mosquitoes in, creating an uncomfortable few nights and many bites.
Beautiful property.
Beds were not very comfortable but everything else from the staff to the continental breakfast were exceptional. We were very happy
Nice room, well decorated in keeping with Venice. Excellent value breakfast, a great start to the day. Really helpful staff and always welcome you back.
There wasn't a room safe, which would be a good addition.
I was upgraded to an apartment nearby the actual hotel. I did not request the upgrade and I was blown away with the quality. Large apartment with living room, bathroom, full kitchen (fully equipped with stovetop, oven, cookware and dishes), large bedroom, and balcony with view of the canals. Included adjustable A/C in the living room and bedroom. The staff was very professional, pleasant, and spoke English very well, which was an unexpected treat. Only about 20 minutes' walk from the train station, about 45-60 minutes' walk from Piazza San Marco.
Bed was fairly firm, bathroom/shower was fairly small, location is somewhat far from main attractions of the city.
The location was great, the rooms were comfortable and we liked set up and decor
We liked it all
The location of the hotel was in a quiet neighborhood away from the crowds, which was nice to experience. It was also a very close (15-minute) walk to the bus station, which was a bonus. The staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view.
Large room and bathroom. Quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to many sights
Nothing, really.
Tucked away in a quiet part of town, this hotel offered a peaceful escape from the busy tourist areas. While it was a bit of a walk to the main sights, we loved getting lost in Venice’s charming backstreets along the way. The air conditioning was a lifesaver after long days exploring in the summer heat!
