Pros +
- Free breakfast, exceptionally friendly staff, firm beds, modern bathroom appliances, great water pressure in shower, my room had a lovely waterside view, housekeeping was efficient, great location by Zattere stop and Ponte Accademia, elevator
- A classic Venetian style feel in this hotel. It is not modern, and you feel like you’re taking a trip back in history. Very quaint, staff was warm and accommodating, and very helpful navigating the water taxis
- The location was decent -- it was close to the water bus lines.
Cons -
- Mosquitos, thin walls with outside/hallway noise, peeling walls/paneling in room, only one electrical socket
- The mattress could use an upgrade :/
- The man who checked us in to our hotel room very transparently attempted to rip us off for 6 euros when we paid the hotel tax in cash. His response when we double-checked the change was that of someone who knew they had just been busted trying to rip someone off. We are both people who would always give someone the benefit of the doubt but this was just too obvious. Unfortunately this set the tone for the rest of our stay. He had requested that we leave the keys to our hotel room on a board at the entrance of the hotel every time we left -- there was no way we were going to do that after he attempted to steal from us. Luckily no one put up any resistance when we took our keys with us whenever we left. Our bedroom was nothing like the ones that were pictured in the booking for the same room type we had chosen. The room was small, dim and the bed was uncomfortable. The cleaning products they used had a really harsh odor and were the only thing on our entire vacation to trigger both of our allergies. The worst part of our stay was that it was completely infested with bed bugs. Both of us were bit and we are having to disinfect everything now that we are home. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. $236 for a bedbug infested hotel where they may attempt to steal from you is NOT WORTH IT. This is also not a good hotel for anyone with food allergies even if you notify them in advance.

We were very pleased with our stay here. Very short walk from Zatterre ferry station. Super nice staff at check-in and during our stay. We had a room that opened onto a side canal and had a view to the southern main canal that was very nice. Hotel had an old world feel, but with plenty of modern day comforts. Dorsoduro district was a good calm area and away from the higher traffic tourist areas, but still within walking distance to everything.
Great location and room comfort.
All staff were great, with exception of one person in the reception (young Italian man), who was terribly rude and shouted at me simply because I wanted to cancel a taxi reservation. Not acceptible!
Great location and comfortable room.
The staff were great, with the exception one receptionist (young Italian) who was incredibly rude and started shouting at me because I had to cancel a water taxi. Totally unacceptable.
Beautiful located and decorated interior.
They need to get comfortable pillows.
We absolutely loved staying at Pensione Seguso. The hotel is beautiful, with a really Venetian feel. The room was spacious and comfortable with a breathtaking view of the canal. Each member of staff was so helpful and welcoming we felt really comfortable and at home. The location is perfect - about a 20 minute walk to St Mark's which we enjoyed and the area around the hotel was also lovely. We would highly, highly recommend this place.
There is nothing that we didn't like.
The hotel got us an upgrade for my family and we really appreciated it. The room was big and had a view of the river outside. It was wonderful waking up and seeing the waves.
The location was amazing for starters - right by the Zatarre waterbus stations and walking distance from so many great restaurants, cafes, gelaterias and bars in Dorsoduro. The view of the canals from the side room balconies was absolutely stunning both day and night - great for just taking in the sights and people watching. Service was very friendly and helpful, and all facilities were great, especially all the mirrors, the shower, and the comfy bed! Truly a special stay.
Great location, great view with great staff. Highly recommended!
Close to everything and yet secluded from the tourist crowd. Rooms are vintage and simple but very functional and clean. Has a very good breakfast.
Nothing. Just keep it as it is.
The Pensione Seguso is real authentique experience. It is located in a beautiful and quite area. But still close to all of the main attractions. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They gave us great tips where to eat and even booked an excellent restaurant for us. Couldn't recommend the place more. If you want to stay somewhere authentique, this is the place to go. Our room looked out on the canal. Falling asleep with the sound of the water was dream like.
Nothing, it was exceptional!
Excellent location and staff. Very clean and always very helpful.
This is a good place to unplug and relax, so if you are looking for quick internet speed this is not the place for you
The hotel is located in a beautiful place and amazing staff
Bathroom would have been much cleaner
The historic preservation was lovely. It is nice to see a place with a sense of personality, place and one that has welcomed so many generations. We were recommended by a good friend and architect and then were later told that another architect friend of my in-laws also visited back in 1972. A wonderful experience. Plus the location was amazing- a vaporetto stop just a few feet away is invaluable and because it’s right off a canal we were able to pull up via private water taxi so easily!
Clean room and bathroom, good location and helpful staff.
The staff service Consistently cleaned toilet facilities and hallways
Faulty socket Dirt on bed upon arrival Hotel room could have improvements in cleanliness and techRoom came with nothing, not even one small bottle of water
Staff were very friendly and the building itself had so many interesting original features. Location was amazing and views were stunning. General vibe felt really venetian and I loved all the history in the building. Would much rather stay in a 'real' place like this than a soulless hotel. Would definitely go back again.
Shower could have been properly enclosed rather than just a curtain. Bed slightly hard. But only minor gripes compared to the positives.
Great, quiet location. Safe. But easily walkable to stuff like Peggy Guggenheim and San Marco's
