- Location is great if you want to be away from the crowds of tourists, yet close enough to experience the sites of Venice. Close to public transportation. Corte Contarina was quiet, the staff was very helpful, and the room very clean.
- Room was very nice including the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice to have and choices of food and drinks were very good. I would recommend this hotel. I also like it was on the busy area nearby. Staff was very friendly. They let us drop our luggage there before check-in time.

Beautiful big room and at a lovely location. I would definitely come again.

Great locationGood size roomGreat breakfastVery nice overall
Mattress a bit hardNo kettle in room but these are minor things
We liked everything about this property. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good, the location is in a quiet neighbourhood with a short walking distance to most of the attractions, the staff were great, especially the receptionist Mustafa, he was so kind, positive and helpful. Overall for us as a couple this place was perfect.
Corte Contarina is situated slightly away from the main tourist spots but they are easily accessable by walking or vaporetto. We really enjoyed the local neighbourhood which had some great restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Merina and Mustafa. Both made our stay that much more memorable. The room was lovely and large although the TV size didn't quite match.A good continental breakfast was available each morning. We really enjoyed our stay and if we have the good fortune to return to Venice, we will definitely stay at Corte Contarina.
The bed was very firm which wasn't particularly comfortable for me.Our shower door had been replaced with a shower curtain. The internet speed was very slow.
Warm, lovely staff and great location
Our key didn’t work in the door properly and it was quite noisy in the mornings
We really liked the room, on the first floor. The room was spacious, well airconditioned, and the bathroom was among the best we had ever. Congrats !! And of course we loved Mustafa and Moreno. We were so happy coming back at night and have this warm welcome by Mustafa. The heart and soul of the hotel.
The walls when entering the hotel seem full in humidity, chiping away, the breakfast was veeeeeery poor. 1 small panini, cheese and ham, orange juice and coffee from the machine plus some more options. I feel that breakfast needs much more effort to get decent. There is no elevator, hopefully we were on the first floor.
We were offered a couple of rooms with twin beds and chose a large one with a big king and a single bed as well as a sofa. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is just off the main street in Castello and close for the biennale. There is a supermarket next door and a range of restaurants and bars of mixed quality. It is very quiet as it overlooks a small courtyard. The bathroom was spacious.
The shower was not always hot and the pole attaching it to the wall was falling off so it was not always easy to have a shower. The heating was also somewhat sporadic through the air con unit. Breakfast was reasonable but pretty basic with cold meats and cheese, yoghurt and cereals. The marmalade croissants were often rather stale and were not very fresh.
Pleasant
Small TV, and it didn't work. Even when required the problem wasn't solve.
The breakfast was good, the hotel is close to some good restaurants. Location is good, the neighbourhood is calm and nice.
Like many or most hotels in Venice there is some walk to the hotel with your luggage and there is no lift or elevator in the hotel but that was to be expected.
Disappointing
the rooms need a definite upgrade. TV too small, not working. No wifi connection in the room. Bed not comfortable at all. Shower falling apart.
location, furniture, decorations and 'spirit' of the place
all the room equipment is quite worn off and sometimes doesn't work so well, no eggs for breakfast
Great staff and comfortable room
Could use better air conditioning but it was very hot
The breakfast was delightful, featuring freshly baked bread and coffee, tea, juices, and yogurt. The staff were attentive and friendly, providing valuable assistance throughout our stay. The accommodation was in a very safe and quiet neighborhood, well connected to the public transportation system and at a walkable distance to the main islands and attractions. Overall, great value for money.
Unfortunately, the room did not have air conditioning, which was quite uncomfortable with the high temperatures. The staff explained that this issue was due to a general electricity malfunction on the property, but they did provide a fan upon request to help alleviate the heat. Additionally, the bathroom was quite small; even for someone petite like me, the shower felt rather cramped.
Location was good. The building is full of history and it is really nice to feel the atmosphere of Venice. The wood furniture is nice and authentic. Windows and light in the room.
Unfortunately this place requires renovations and cleaning! In the bathroom almost everything was broken. Shower cabine is covered by limescale and looks not hygienic. The conditioner is very-very old and doesn’t cope with the task: makes a lot of noise but no cooling. In temperatures 35C the sleeping was impossible. Very dusty in the room - all textiles (and there are a lot of textiles) required cleaning. A lot of excess furniture (3 big armchairs covered with some old textiles - why?) in the room makes it feels smaller than it actually is. So it was all disappointing because the potential of this place is really great! Hope the staff fix it up!
The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the Vaporetto stations Giardini and Arsenale. Shops and restaurants are just around the corner. Excellent value for money. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our stay so special, we will be back next year.
Room was small but well appointed. The shower was teeny tiny but I'm not a big person so it was fine. I think I was put in something like an attic room because I was traveling alone and I had no problems with the room. Again, good breakfast, and this was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. It included breakfast and even though I didn't get to eat it every day I did enjoy it when I got up early enough to have it. Breakfast tip: combine cappuccino + hot chocolate to make delicious mocha for a longer and smoother caffeine ride in the morning walking about :) Location was key because I was there to visit all sorts of exhibitions and a couple of special events related to la Biennale so I couldn't be in a better place than right in the middle of Giardini. Via Garibaldi seems to have become a lot more popular since the last time I visited and now it has a fun nightlife so take advantage of the great bars, restos, and cafés. This hotel is right behind the Coop supermarket so it makes for efficient and quick shopping for the most delicious cheeses, breads, plenty of dry goods, water, at great prices.
The mega steep climb up the four flights to make it to the room was a long haul every single time but it was worth it to get to the room because I could look out the window. Sometimes I'd catch the neighbor's two cats across the way and we would hold staring contests while I took their picture.
