Everything about The Gritti Palace was superb. All of the staff were wonderful. The room was immaculate and cozy. Breakfast was comprehensive and delicious. Location was great and easy access by water taxi. We needed an emergency dentist and they set us up with an excellent Italian dentist. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything about this property is excellent. The location couldn’t be better. Close to all the main attractions that we and the views were amazing but not right in the super touristy area of San Marco. Wonderful outdoor dining for all three meals of the day. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful for everything. They arranged a private tour for us in a glass studio in Murano. The room is a generous size for a European standard room and bathroom was beautiful too. The lobby and public areas are well appointed and the whole place feels very Venetian.

Superb location on the Grand Canal and just a few minutes walk to San Marco. The hotel is incredibly comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Service was impeccable. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay, to our considerable surprise they delivered a beautiful cake to our room.

The staff at the Gritti Palace are incredible, accomodating, friendly, polite, they remember you from last time, not like you are just a number & believe me in Venice that is not a common thing!

The vegetarian club sandwich fell a little short of my last one, but given this time we stayed it was the beginning of Carnivale when Venice is drowning with tourists its a little to be expected.

The Gritti Palace is one of the ultimate luxury stays. It's location in a restored 15th century palazzo on the Grand Canal really is unparalleled. The rooms are gorgeously styled, like the rest of the hotel, comfortable and pure luxury. Service throughout the stay, from check-in to check-out was exceptional. Concierge was an excellent help in organising various experiences for us. We also made sure to take part in the Culinary School hosted at the hotel with one of head chefs - a brilliant experience in itself. The bar is beautiful and has a range of excellent and creative cocktails - my favourite is the Wild Fennel Martini! The restaurant was stunning at dinner and at breakfast. Fabulous all round, zero regrets.

They did not answer my 3 emails inspite of the fact that I already paid full price.

The staff needs improvement. This Indian front desk staff checked me in and his service needs work. Same with the bar staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on service

Amazing hotel with so much history, beautiful. Good location, sadly only there for one night. The lady who welcomed us in the main restaurant was extremely helpful, friendly and very accommodating, wish I could have got her name. Thank you to her.Reception staff and concierge were also excellent, thanks to all.

My only criticism is that breakfast was a little chaotic and the service was not great. Also as lovely as the rooms are it was not very practical with the hairdryer and mirror in the bathroom.

Worth trying once, just to understand what’s a luxury stay in Venice. You’ll feel like a king.Pro tip: use the room service! Ice cream in the middle of the night is something else..

Expectations were high and concierge couldn’t hep with everything i wanted ( like tickets to opera). Also paying 55eur for a breakfast ( amazing breakfast!) when the room is 1200 is just lame :)

The design and location

They charged me 1500 euros when I checked in although I paid my bill in advance and then the last of my checkout they charged me another 1610 euros with no reason. I STILL HAVEN’T RECEIVED THE MONEY BACK. In addition, when I asked for a room with a canal view the woman at the desk said: THIS IS ANOTHER PRICE RANGE believing I couldn’t afford it. Although I could.

Amazing breakfast options and absolutely gorgeous hotel interiors, including the rooms. Concierge was fantastic and the location and views incredible. The hotel is divine.

The bartender was grouchy and not very friendly, and we were regulars in the bar. One night, when we were the last ones in the bar, he started banging cabinets so we would leave. I have never had that happen in a European 5 star hotel ever.

A royal magical palace from another age - the hotel is so beautiful, and well preserved. I love that you step in and feel like you are back in time. We got upgraded to a room with the canal view which was magical. The bed was the most comfortable bed of any luxury hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel is perfect.

The bedroom was a bit smaller than expected but we did only spend a small amount of timeIn the room so it was not a problem.

The Gritti Palace is an iconic hotel, the rooms are superb and the staff are exceptionally helpful.However, as a paying guest, it was disappointing that on three occasions we were not able to enjoy the terrace due to the large amount of non-residents that casually dine and drink at the hotel, this is unacceptable given the limited size of the terrace area. Why stay here and pay such high rates when no priority is given to residents? The hotel needs to address this.
