Pros +
- Location, staff, charm 10/10.
- There was a very funny smell in our bathroom. But I know that sometimes happens when it rains. We always love staying with you at La Flora!
- We loved the location, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast at Hotel Flora! The garden is charming and makes for such a fun place to start the day. Conveniently, there are docks nearby, making it easy to catch a water taxi when arriving or departing with luggage.
Cons -
- Our room was very small, I know space is precious In Venice but there was really nowhere to put our bags. My husband couldn¿t even open his suitcase. I might have requested something larger had I thought about it earlier.
- I already mentioned the bad odor in our bathroom.
- When we arrived, our room had a noticeably strong smoke smell. With fabric-covered walls and no fans in the bathroom, the space often felt humid and heavy. Thankfully, the windows can be opened for fresh air. Some rooms are also on the smaller side, so keep that in mind when booking. While the hotel itself is beautiful and unique, our room didn’t feel especially comfortable—and after a long day of travel, it wasn’t quite the experience we were hoping for.

I never write reviews. The staff at this hotel were outstanding to the extent that I felt obligated to write a review. They were more than willing to accommodate anything we needed and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay and hit all the best spots in Venice. The main guy we spoke with was Marco, who was phenomenal, but even when he wasn't on site, the rest of the staff were as happy to offer assistance as he was. Highly recommend staying here.
That I didn't have time to stay a few more days.
Hotel Flora is an oasis in the heart of Venice. The property sits within easy walking distance of all the major sites, yet it is set back from the street so that you can enjoy a quiet night's rest. We were welcomed by kind, helpful and attentive staff. Enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast served in a charming dining room. The rooms were quite spacious and very clean with high-quality linens and small touches like fresh cookies. The gorgeous courtyard is an ideal place to relax when you're not sightseeing. There's so much to love about this hotel. I would whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice. Our entire family loved it and made great memories here.
We love the Hotel Flora having first gone in the ‘90s. We continue to go as often as possible.
Our room had a bad odor.
Amazing place with beautiful design. Staff was very nice and helpful. We had a nice treatment and they actually upgrade our initial room.
When we were back to our original room (which we hadnt seen yet), it was very small. I mean, i knew it was small but this was veryyyy small. Regardless of that, everything was great.
un meraviglioso hotel antico ??We loved all the decoration, the view and the garden ?
Toilets ?I didn't think it suited the overall atmosphere of the hotel and the beauty of the rooms very well. And we didin’t see a mini bar :/
Cozy. Welcoming. Room was small, but the bar/breakfast room and garden are nice places to hang out.
Room a bit small.
Beautiful, quiet, old age charming hotel with a nice back garden and walking distance to everything.
I made the booking last minute so I don’t know what it would have been otherwise. But my room was right next to the cleaning supply closet and i could hear the cleaners outside my door all morning.
The “Italian breakfast” was wonderful. Pastries, yogurt with fruit and granola, orange juice and coffee- yum. Wait staff was extremely hospitable and attentive!
Staying at Hotel Flora was one of the highlights of our trip to Venice.
Beautiful small hotel run with warmth and lovely detail touches. And it’s quiet as it sits at the end of a small street away from the hustle and bustle.
The rooms are a bit small but very comfortable
It’s a perfect location and like their other properties, everything is perfectly appointed. Love their breakfast…and the garden is perfect. Their service was wonderful all the way through. Love supporting a family business
Nothing… maybe the beds are a bit hard
Hotel Flora is stunning. The interiors, the garden, the rooms, everything is so tastefully done and it's clear a lot of care and intention has been put into the property. It's situated in a very central, busy part of town, but the hotel is super quiet. This was a huge plus for us as we could easily get to great restaurants, neighborhoods and other areas of interest. Diego was so helpful and helped us map out our time there, offering tons of recommendations and general guidance to get the most of it. The room itself was quite spacious and beautiful, bed was very comfortable. Sadly we were only here for one night and will definitely be back!
lovely breakfast provided in the courtyard garden, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very short walk from the ferry and San Marco Square. My brother and his wife recommended this sport, and now I recommend it as well.
Centrally located, but tucked down a lovely little street. The garden was exceptionally adorable, and the staff was extraordinarily welcoming and helpful. So pleased that I didn’t stay anywhere else!
Hotel Flora is a special, boutique property, exuding charm and the warmth of the family that owns and runs it. The garden is magical day and night, perfect for breakfast or a late afternoon/evening aperitif. The location is perfect for exploring Venice, with expert guidance for tours, dinner reservations and anything you might need. Perfection!
Not one thing.
Location is unbeatable- a short walk to Piazza San Marco, but tucked into a quiet alleyway. Lovely garden patio for breakfast and cocktails. Bed was very comfortable. The vibe and decor is warm, stylish, eclectic, authentic. The staff was kind and helpful. We enjoyed evening apertivos and antipasti on the patio with the other guests after a long day of touring and shopping.
Very small room and bath with unappealing views. Breakfast for two (included) was cut fruit, yogurt, and sugary granola, served in 6 separate small lidded glass jars, along with a basket of pastries, a chunk of baguette, and a card informing us that this is what Itallians eat for breakfast.
Absolutely exceptional! This hotel in Venice exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful rooms, perfect location, and incredibly friendly staff. Every detail felt thoughtful, making my stay unforgettable. Can’t wait to return!
When I was planning a trip to Venice for my daughter and me, a friend said, “You HAVE to stay at Hotel Flora." It's the best place to stay in Venice! She was right. Everything was wonderful: staff, room, location, and a quiet garden for breakfast and afternoon snacks/drinks. The staff is incredible! Thanks to Marco and Nona for helping my daughter and me deal with a difficult transportation issue. When traveling to Venice, do yourself a favor and stay at Hotel Flora….truly wonderful!
