Pros +
- This is a very popular spot and for good reason. The restaurant is always busy because the food is so good. I had a fresh lobster. The room was very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to make our stay rewarding. Janet, our waitress, was very attentive and gave us directions to a great little site up ahead. At the back of the property there's a beautiful little garden in which you can sit and in the morning there's a delicious continental breakfast. I would have no hesitation in recommending this inn.
- Perfect for a short getaway — clean, quiet, and excellent service.
- On our bucket list for 40 years as we are friends of Carol Ann’s sister Elaine - one of the nicest people we ever met
Cons -
- It is nicely organized, despite the remote location that Trepassey is and had possibly the best restaurant in the area managed by the same family in the property.
- no air conditioning in the room it was very hot.
- No A/C in rooms no airflow thru the room. Would have to leaved the door to the hall open to get air to flow thru the open window into the room and the into the hallway.

Impressed with the staff. All were very friendly and helpful. Meals were exceptional and good value. We really enjoyed our 5 night stay and highly recommend the edge of the Avalon inn
Very nice staff/owners. Very informal atmosphere as with visiting friends!

easy check-in, very friendly staff and a nice continental breakfast in the morning
no air conditioning in the room it was very hot.
The location. Able to walk by the ocean. The dinner service was excellent.

Lovely location. Ice parking. Pretty deck outside restaurant. Rooms were nice sized and beds very comfortable. Super clean. Good foods in the restaurant and staff was attentive and efficient. Nice views from the restaurant. We parked very near our room and easy to unload and load again. Nice yard area
Beautifully renovated.Tasteful decor.Comfortable bed.Modern shower and bath.Fridge in our room.Ensuite bathroom.Restaurant downstairs.
As one of the locals told us; “ If you don’t eat at their restaurant, you’re not eating.”?It was the only restaurant in town. Fortunately their food and service was excellent!
Breakfast was good: variety and fresh fruit.
The discoloured tape water was not great. No mention of that issue before we arrived.
Staff. Clean . Comfortable

The room was very comfortable and clean; the included continental breakfast was good and the restaurant meal we purchased was excellent and reasonably priced. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Air conditioning or a room fan would have been nice.
Staffs were very friendly.
I don’t feel air circulation. It was hot so we decided to open windows but only my room has no net for windows. Water was brown. That’s fine. ( other some places were brown, too in NL. )But since they recommended not to drink water, we would like to have 4 bottles. ( We are 4 people but we just get 2 bottles). They provided towels for 2 people, too.For restaurant, we waited quite long time. Most of food were fried stuffs. Restaurant was busy, so as soon as you arrive at hotel, make a reservation if you want to eat. Servers were very friendly.Breakfast was continental. It’s very simple but it was good.
The room was great. Large size, nice bathroom, comfy beds.
A couple of small problems with the meals. For the price the seafood fettuccine was very water. The continental breakfast was ok but for the price they should have a properly working toaster. Watching people struggle with two of the burners in a four slice toaster is a joke.
It’s clean and comfortable - what one really needs while travelling. The staff works as a team. It shows that they genuinely like each other and that they sincerely love to be hospitable - it’s just who they are!
Not a thing.
This is a lovely family-run inn and restaurant, and the staff could not be nicer. It is very convenient to Mistaken Point. The rooms are very well maintained and very clean, although not very large.
We had booked two king rooms on booking.com, but were told upon arrival that only one king and one queen were available. The staff said this was a booking.com issue of incorrect description -- we had reserved the only two sea-view rooms, yet there is a king in only one of those. We found the restaurant service to be lovely, but the food was only fair. The chowder we had was thin and watery, and much of the food was under-seasoned. This is the only place in the area to eat dinner.
Absolutely fantastic. Everything and I do mean everything was perfect. The friendliest staff known to human kind. Funny, accommodating, helpful. Simply awesome.
They were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great. The service was exceptional and personable. The beds were comfy.
wonderful location, helpful friendly staff, comfortable and clean, great restaurant, locally made crafts and lighthouses, gave us picnic breakfast for early am checkout
our room had a window hinge that kept flapping at night and couldn't close properly, would really have liked a ceiling fan for night
Very friendly staff, excellent dinner options and delicious. We had a special surprise as the hotel held a music show of winners of a songwriting contest where three winners performed. The dining room was full of townspeople and tourists. A very fun and surprising evening.
