Shine Motel

The owner went above and beyond and did this more than once. Never have I been greeted at the front door personally, then allowed to check in before paying, checked on that we were okay, Etc. His professionalism was above and beyond customer service.

The room is tidy, clean, and convenient. It has a small kitchen in suite. The host is super friendly and very helpful. He always checks out with the customers whether they need his help and any necessity. The place provides free laundry for customers.

Older motel needs updating outside and in. Worked for our needs. Incredible water pressure, and hot water.

Comfortable bed, clean, great location and price. It is older and needs some repairs, but it was perfect for a 2 day stay.

Location, kitchen, size.

No coffee machine, tub drain not closing,had to clean air filter on window air conditioner for better air flow,steps to outside second floor needs work.basic mom and pop motel.got what was expected.

The staff was very obliging. They went above expectations and met my every request to my complete satisfaction. The location was perfect. We went to an amazing dinner theater that was walking distance from the motel.

It was very clean. It had everything we were looking for.

Stove didn't work well.

saw a kitty in a window, getting in contact to check in was clear, checking in was fast and easy, the guy who checked us in was clear in communication on things like using the heater and area

So we never ended up staying. When we got there a gentleman was sitting on the deck talking to someone and they made a rude comments as I walked up. I went inside and he followed me to the office, before anything else he said to me that he could show me the room but I didn’t need to stay he would refund the amount I booked. I was very confused at this point as I hadn’t said anything about that. He said it 2 more times. I took the two keys he offered me and went to look at the rooms. They were dirty and smelled bad. I am not sure if he realized I would t like it or why he offered the refund immediately, but after seeing the rooms I took the refund and we left to find something else. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We were delayed by a serious accident approaching the bridge to PEI. Front office helpfully made sure we would get access to regardless of how late at night we would arrive.

Very basic motel, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Friendly staff, studio with kitchen, provide big pot can cook lobster, 3 mins drive to JMK, where the locals buy lobsters.

Super friendly motel staff, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

It was central to the Bridge and not a far drive to see Anne of Green Gables which was the purpose of our visit.

Would not recommend this place to any traveller.

Room was below expectations for cleanliness and basic maintenance. Cobwebs, food particles still in oven burner, ceiling looked like it was ready to fall down, screws appeared to be holding it up, hairs found in bed. Very disappointing.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Its convenient location made getting to our destination a breeze. The owner and staff were absolutely wonderful—so cheerful and welcoming, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. While the hotel has an older charm that could benefit from some upgrades, it was impeccably clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Overall, we had a delightful experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and inviting place to stay!"

I must mention that while we had a non-smoking room, I found the presence of cigarette smoke quite bothersome. Every time we opened our door, the smell of smoke from guests smoking outside their rooms was the first thing to greet us. It would be great if the hotel could implement some measures to minimize this issue for those sensitive to smoke."

Even though dated, the room was very clean and comfortable.

Great location on main drag of Summerside. Had nice kitchen. Major stores nearby and quiet location. Would stay again. Very personable owner. Great value stay.
