Friars Bay Inn & Cottages

The staff is amazing and accommodating, and the room itself was beautiful.

The bathroom was a very tight squeeze and poorly designed though it seemed to have brand new fixtures and was extremely clean. It was just really awkward to navigate and would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues, or even a little extra weight.

I liked the location. The staff was really nice and it seems like a well run joint. The towns people were really nice too!

The only downside is the TV mounted on the wall in the neighboring room so when it was on the sound came straight through the wall. Modern TVs have the speakers on the back so having it on a shared wall is not a great idea. Luckily, we only had one night Where the people stayed up and watch TV. Other than that we loved everything about the place.

We booked the cottage instead of two rooms and loved that it was the same price as booking two separate rooms. It was nice having more room. The bed in the bedroom off the living room was so comfortable. Everything was clean and comfortable.

There was an unpleasant smell in the cottage and in the bathroom. But I luckily brought some essential oil room spray, and it helped. The bed in the bedroom near the bathroom was oddly short.

Bedding was really comfortable; very clean. Cute decor.

Water side location, quiet, updated, very clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff & relatively quiet. If you book early, their waterfront rooms are a little more expensive, but fantastic!

We truly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back. This is a “value” hotel but the rooms are very comfortable. The bed was so comfortable, the bed linens were soft with a lovely warm comforter, the room was well appointed and nicely decorated. Parking was easy and close to the room. View was beautiful and the place was quiet and easy to get to. Lovely spot.

No complaints about this lovely place. I would recommend it for people who just want a nice, clean, quiet, and peaceful space to stay.

While it appears to be an older style motel on the outside, it is a very modern, clean and updated on the inside. It's set up for a longer-term stay with a microwave, coffee maker and a small fridge with a counter set up in one part of the room. The Bed was very comfortable. Good TV service good location on Campobello Island. The parking is not too far from the room. Heating system worked well.

Parking can be a bit far if you are st the far end of the Motel.

USA car rental company would not allow car into Canada due to high theft possibility. We were unable to use our booking and thus lost our payment due to the timing of our reservation. Not anyone’s direct fault but would have been nice to know this when planning this trip.

The property is across the street from the water. there were chairs outside to watch the beautiful sunset. It's just down the street from the Roosevelt home too. The staff told us about a great place to eat on the golf course.

Staff greeting was great and all throughout our stay. Room was what we expected: clean, nice decor, good value. Location was supreme: bay view, great sunsets.

I stayed in one of the duplex units right on the beach. The room was comfortable and clean. View and location were fantastic.

The room was updated and it was nice having the extra counter space in the refrigerator and microwave area. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linens were such a nice quality, so soft. Outside the room were some Adirondack chairs and a table. Many of the guests watched sunset from this area. There is a very nice view of the bay.

Breakfast is not included with this stay. There is a restaurant near by that was open from 8:00AM-2:00PM. Plan ahead for dinner as there are only a couple of restaurants in this area and many close down early or entirely depending on the time of year.

Nice clean updated room with good lighting.

Walls are thin so you hear the neighbors.

This little strip motel was right on the bay with nice views from all the rooms. Very clean. The bed was soooo comfy that it was hard to get out in the morning. The “Front Porch” cafe next door offered a nice breakfast selection. Everyone was so friendly on Campobello Island.

Three things a visitor needs to know: 1. The walls are paper thin. I’m not complaining, you just need to know. 2. The only ATM (for Canadian money) on the island is usually empty according to some locals. We struck out. And there is no bank on the island. Plan on using your credit cards.3. There are very few places to eat on the island. When you ask the locals, they scratch their heads, and admit that they eat at home and the little grocery store sells takeout pizza.Staying on the island is something of an adventure. . . .but don’t stay too long!
