The room was clean and quiet.
Location was nice and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Room was clean but we could tell it was old and that a cheap cover up renovation was made some time ago. Perfect hotel for 1 night or a layover.
The rooms are very clean and confortable, breakfast is good but basic.

Good breakfast !
Leaving, the staff were friendly.

When we got to the hotel there was no record of the reservation you made for us. They would not accept the printed reservation we showed them as it was never sent on May 30th for our stay May 1st. We are now out $122.00. Midas made the reservation.

There was no elevator which made it difficult to get to our room
The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is an excellent location - next to the oldest part of the city, the water, and plenty of shopping and restaurants. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. Excellent breakfast included!

Top Tips
- Book your hotel at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance for major Trois-Rivières events like FestiVoix in July or the Grand Prix in August, as rooms often sell out and rates can increase by 25% or more. Compare rates and confirm cancellation policies before finalizing for the widest selection.
- Before reserving, check current guest reviews on TripAdvisor or Google for updates on amenities, including free breakfast, Wi-Fi speed, included parking, and access to gym or spa facilities. Verify if extra fees apply, as these can vary by property.
- Quebec hotels add GST (5%), QST (9.975%), and a nightly lodging tax, which can raise rates by up to 19%. Always confirm the total per-night cost including taxes before booking to avoid surprise charges.
- Standard check-in is at 15:00 and check-out at 11:00. If you arrive early or depart late, ask about flexible check-in or luggage storage, as some hotels offer these at no charge with advance notice.
- Present a government-issued photo ID and credit card at check-in. Most hotels place a CAD 100-200 hold on your card for incidentals; ask at the desk when the release will occur after checkout.
- If traveling December 1 to March 15, Quebec law requires winter tires on Quebec rental cars. In summer (July averages 26°C or 79°F), confirm air conditioning is available or request a room with AC for comfort.
- Trois-Rivières is accessible via Autoroute 40 or Orléans Express intercity buses. To arrange transfer from Montréal (YUL, 130 km) or Québec City (YQB, 125 km), confirm if your hotel can book shuttles or provide trusted taxi contacts in advance.
- Greeting hotel staff with 'Bonjour' or 'Bonsoir' is appreciated in this predominantly French-speaking area. Even basic French phrases enhance service, though many staff at major hotels also speak English.
- In Quebec, tip 15-20% at restaurants, $15 per bag for bellhops, and $15 per night for housekeeping, paid daily. Carry coins or small bills, as tipping by card is less common for luggage and housekeeping.
- For quieter stays, request a room away from elevators or facing the Saint-Lawrence River or old town. Some views may cost $15 to $30 CAD extra per night; specify your preference when booking.
- Business travelers should confirm in-room Wi-Fi speed and the availability of a work desk, meeting rooms, or business services like printing. Some hotels feature business floors for quieter stays, which you can request if needed.
- When traveling with children, check in advance for cribs, rollaway beds, or connecting rooms, and clarify if kids’ breakfasts are included, since policies vary by brand.
- If bringing a pet, verify hotel policies for weight limits, cleaning fees (often $15 to $30 CAD), and amenities such as pet beds or bowls. Most hotels require advance notice and up-to-date vaccination records for pets.
- Quebec bans smoking in all indoor public spaces, including hotel rooms. Most hotels have outdoor smoking areas; ask staff for locations to avoid cleaning fees, which can exceed $15.
- Ask the front desk about seasonal partnerships, as many hotels offer local museum, Mauricie National Park, or spa discounts. Check for packaged experiences when booking or at arrival to access these local deals.
- Carry health insurance valid in Canada, as provincial healthcare does not cover visitors. Before travel, check your hotel’s current COVID-19 or vaccination requirements, as these can change seasonally.
- Trois-Rivières is generally safe, but secure valuables in your room safe, lock your car, and remove personal items, as petty theft can occur near tourist areas.
- Flexible rates allow cancellations until 24-48 hours before arrival, while non-refundable rates are typically lower. Always review the cancellation and no-show policies before confirming your booking.
- Canada uses 120V, type A/B plugs, the same as the U.S.; travelers from outside North America should bring a travel adapter and, if needed, a voltage converter for compatible device use.
- Front desk concierges can arrange taxis, dining reservations, event tickets, or provide maps within 500 m of the property. Ask about recommended bakeries, drugstores, or local events during your stay.
