Pros +
- This is a grand hotel with a spa.
- Beautiful view from the room. Nice walking path to the river edge.
- Clean, different, beautiful
Cons -
- Check in and check out took a long time. The person cleaning the room dod not clean the wine glasses or replace the empty tissue box.
- The staff at the spa repeatedly asked who we were, to sign in, etc. I registered then someone else ran after me to register. Maybe people use the spa without paying but the staff seem rather aggressive about ensuring payment
- Our recent stay in Charlevoix was unfortunately disappointing. While the hotel itself was beautiful, set on a lovely farm with a great farm-to-table concept and eco-friendly initiatives, the service was a major letdown. From the moment the staff realized we weren’t from Quebec, we felt unwelcome. We had been warned about the lack of friendliness, but we hadn’t believed it until we experienced it firsthand. The service at the hotel, as well as in the village, was so poor that we ended up checking out a day early. It was disappointing and frustrating, and we would not recommend this hotel or the area to others.

The hotel itself was beautiful, I loved the farm to table and the thought put into every single detail

Jessica, at reception, was professional and friendly. We found the bed and the room in the Clos building too small and she expeditiously found us an upgrade to the main building at a reasonable price. The proximity to town is great- everything is within walking distance and Baie St. Paul has great dining options and many art galleries. Kids will like the animals and free bike usage is a plus.
Service in the dining room was poor. We were seated and forgotten, having to flag down staff for service. It also really annoys me that this hotel does not have a 4 season pool - it’s a 4 season resort. Paying $60 per person to visit the spa for pool use is not a satisfactory alternative.
Quiet and elegant a short walk from the town centre.
Breakfast, free parking, farm and grounds, excellent concierge.
The bathroom, king bed instead of queen beds we asked for, no pool, expensive for what it offered.
Beautiful hotel with amazing spa in great location.
The gym was tiny. A hotel of this size and quality would be expected to have a nicer gym.
It was well located. We could walk to all restaurants in art galleries. The staff are very helpful. We were in one of the smaller rooms, but it was very smartly laid out. The pool was nice, but was consistently busy with young families (not a complaint, just an observation) so maybe not quite as relaxing as I’d hope. The ground were nice. The food at the restaurant on the main floor was quite nice.
No major complaints. The curtains in our room had some odd stains on them. There was a dirty glass left on the patio from the previous guests. A lot of flies everywhere (just the time of year). There was a lot of spiders in the corners of our room.
We love this hotel for a week end, it has a beautiful piscine and good services
Always the checkin and checkout process came with a bitter taste. They do not give you all the information and they treat you as if you were inferior. Not all them… but most of them. On the contrary the people working in the restaurants are really really friendly.
Great location, nice grounds / facility
The bedroom itself had some design issues, but the bed was comfortable.
The farm
Unfortunately, not all rooms are accessible by elevator—particularly the family room—making it difficult to carry all the luggage up the stairs.
Rooms are very comfortable.
Our room overlooked the most gorgeous pool area. We put on our bathing suits so eager to jump in and the lounge. It took us 10 minutes to figure out how to get to this pool. No signs. Staff weren’t even sure. We finally thought yo go into the spa since it seemed it was behind it. We found out you have to pay $60 to go in the pool!!!! I said oh well, we have a spa service booked tomorrow so I’m sure it’s included with our service and they said no. Even if you pay $300 for a massage, you still need to pay $60. This is unacceptable. Also, it was a bit of a trek to get to our room. All the buildings looks like your at a college campus. Not so warm and welcoming.
needed more lighting in the room. No dimmers in the bedroom area to have bright light but then dim if spouse is sleeping.
Spa did not have multiple showerheads in the mens and womens to shower and enjoy more the spa experience. it was just one head like a gym shower.
Walking distance to the village and the riverside
Leaving shoes in the hallway created an odour
The spa, although it seems odd to have to pay an additional amount to use the spa facilities when it’s a spa hotel
I was given a room in a separate building far from the main part of the hotel and from my friend . I accidentally locked myself out of my room and there was no emergency phone in the building. I had to knock on another guest’s door to call reception to let me back in as I was not dressed properly to make the long walk outside to the lobby
Fabulous breakfast bar
I was disappointed that the hotel didn’t offer a good range of Women’s ice skates. What is the point in having an ice ring if you don’t t have proper skates?
Spacious, separate shower, toilet, and sinks.
Long walk from parking, then the lobby, and several flights of stairs up and down to get to the Gare. One side of the lobby doors has no handicap buttons. The staff was very slow and didn't introduce the amenities at all.
Very stylish, comfortable and well designed. Excellent bed and bedding. Very clean.
Some information about the facilities on arrival would have been helpful. Didn’t know the pool was closing on day of arrival for season. Shame as it was a lovely pool. Am glad we booked a room in the main building. Some of the other buildings seemed a little reminiscent of a college campus although can’t comment on the rooms. Dinner in brasserie was average. Service a bit perfunctory.
Very modern, efficient, clean. Great food, friendly staff.
