Sword Inn Bancroft

The location atmosphere and pool with hot tub

The location was perfect for what we wanted

They need to keep up with what is not available with the amenities that they advertise and promote

Swimming Pool

WiFi was a hit and miss

It was close to everything we needed

The price!

I needed a place to stay for a short time.

The staff was very helpful when we had a problem.

The TV wasn't very good. The heater kept shutting on and off.Very hard t sleep. Kep blowing cold air before heat.

Staff were helpful.

Rooms were not clean and very small.

Bed was comfortable, breakfast included

Facilities are getting run down. Hot water takes a long time to come at the tap.Breakfast was good but high carb for diabetic.

Great location. Clean room

A bit dated, some things were broken.

Close to everything you need, very clean and superb staff

Bathroom had no heat so had to leave the door open from the room to keep it warm

The property was clean, easily accessible and beautifully decorated for the holiday season. I hosted my boy’s 8th and 10th birthdays and had pizza lunch in the conference room followed by a swim party in the pool. The conference room was clean, spacious and well equipped with abundant tables and chairs for food and gifts with a view of the pool which helped us to supervise the children swimming.

Adjust your expectations as this property is retro and has all the charm of an older building. We enjoyed our stay.

Ease of location and cleanliness. Staff were superb

No complains really. One lamp didn’t work in the room but it was not a big deal.

We needed an overnight in Bancroft to attend a concert at the fantastic Bancroft Village Playhouse. Location was excellent, down the Main Street about a mile. We had an end unit and it was very quiet. Bed was comfortable.

Needs updating. Shower was difficult to turn on.

Convenient location

The outside door to the property where we entered the hallway to go to our room would not close at all , not a very secure feeling . The door to our room did not meet the floor or the frame of the door , if there had been a fire in the hallway the smoke would have been all through our room . There is no way this would meet fire code The grout in most of the tile around the tub was black in areas with mold and could use a good clean with bleach ! Breakfast was very basic and no one around to offer assistance if it was required .

Not much.

Very dated and not comfortable. In the main office area it is very musty smelling due, I’m sure, to the indoor pool.

Breakfast was quite decent. Better than Continental breakfasts in my experience. Attractive place. Nice other people staying.

Can’t think of anythingOh, I asked at desk about less traveled eastern route south. That trip was ok but could have been told that Cell reception there is limited. And that there are many turns in the road that may cause fatigue.

Quiet air conditioner. Slept well here. Very close to a nice walk by the river and MacDonalds!

Room smelled rather musty when I first entered. Strangely didn't notice it much after a while. No fan in the bathroom. Window opens instead.

We like the swimming pool and sauna, the breakfast was good. We were in a good location close to restaurants and beer store.

We booked an extra night because of the pool and the sauna but the next day we found out they had closed the pool area for some unknown reason . We then found out someone was swimming in the pool so we talked our way into being able to use the pool as well

The staff were very friendly and helpful both at reception and in the breakfast room.

The breakfast area appeared unclean. The room was basic and it appears that an effort was made to be organized and tidy but everything was old and outdated; curtains were ripped, bottom bed sheet was not fitted so it came untucked in the night.

Cleanliness and convenience

Furnishings we’re tired carpet had a big stain as soon as you walked in the door drapes had holes in them. Wall need to dry drywall electrical outlet didn’t work no instructions for TV.
