Churchill Hotel

The friendly hotel staff picked us up at the train station and gave us a quick tour of Churchill, making helpful recommendations along the way. They were also very accommodating with a late checkout, and shuttled us back to the station at the end of our stay. The location was central and walkable to all amenities.

The Churchill Hotel was exactly what we needed. Koral, one of the lovely owners, picked us up from the train station and gave us a town tour. The hotel is right by the restaurants and shops in town. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is nothing fancy, but that's not the goal in Churchill anyway. Staff were lovely and helpful, though sometimes hard to find, as the front desk wasn't staffed very frequently (another thing that seems to be the norm in Churchill).

Everything! Clean. Decent sized rooms. Fantastic breakfast, which was impressive fir such a remote location. Water bottle filling station. And you coulnt ask for more thoughtful and hard working staff.

It’s a walking distance from the train station grocery town complex and the hospital and manager owner John Sr was soo nice giving us all the info needed where to eat shop and he accommodated us for a 3 hour tour with history of Churchill the iconic places and the tourism industry thanks a lot John we could not have enjoyed our stay (off season) without your help

Breakfast was not available. The location is central.

The housekeeper cum front desk receptionist (Tammie) was not honest. She lied a few times about the availability of facilities in the hotel. She was not available at the front desk. The only way to communicate with her was to phone her. Initially, we had to call her husband who would pass on the message to her. Later, she reluctantly gave us her number. Awkward situation!!

Wonderful breakfast, completely unexpected to have a full breakfast every morning.Microwave down the hall was great, ice maker always full.Staff was always pleasant and always on top of things.

Could have used a few more TV channels. Discovery channel showed a fixed screen with audio only.At lease the normal Canadian channels, CBC, CITY TV were there, no CTV or Global.

For the remote location and limitations available to the entire community, our stay at the Churchill Hotel was really good. From the time the owner, John, collected us at the airport, then actually took the time to drive us around for a short tour of the town, before dropping us at the hotel, through to our late departure, we were treated like valued guests. Meals were lovely, and they went out of their way to ensure as a person with coeliac disease, I was taken care of (even provided a separate toaster especially for me)

On our first evening's stay, and also very occasionally after that, the cigarette smoke from one of the other guests entered into our room. We needed to leave the fan on to keep fresh air circulating and remove to smoke and stuffiness. But at -20+° pretty-well all the time, there wasn't really another option of opening a window.

Breakfast was good. Did good "over medium" eggs & unseasoned potatoes which we prefer. Dinner menu had lots of choices. Carol & Tammy took good care of us. We were picked up & dropped off at the train station. Also we were allowed an early check-in & a delayed check-out to match thain schedule.

We were so pleased with Churchill Hotel, mostly because of the staff there. We got stuck in town by a canceled flight during a busy tourist time for them & Chris drove us back from the airport, found room for us in the hotel and food there since the weather was minus 20 with a strong wind. Then he drove us back to the airport the next day and waited to be sure the plane was going. I left my cellphone in his car and they brought it all the way to the airport from town for me. So generous and thoughtful!

Room was clean and larger than expected. Nice bathroom. Host was amazing; drove us to and from the train station, gave us a tour of Churchill, and gave us early check in and late check out at no extra fee, which is never expected but always a great surprise!

Beds weren’t the most comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Close to a pub and a great restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying here. Staff was super friendly and the lift to and from the airport was great.

Property info should be updated to include microwave and toaster in lobby and washer/dryer on premises.

Dated building, shower wouldn’t drain properly, hard to locate a staff member.

The location was great. Clean, comfy beds. Laudry facilities.

The owners disappeared the day i arrived so there was no one at reception during my whole 4 day stay and no one contactable. The restaurant was closed with no notice and was one of the reasons i booked. Had to make my own way to airport because there was noone around to ask or take - again the free transfer was another reason i picked here. The air conditioning was not adjustable and the fan did not work. They had offered a town tour which i requested, but of course they were not around to give it. These things should have been communicated prior to or at arrival, and a contact person covering.
