Great location, loved the older style. Everything was in great shape. Price was the best around. Parking in the alley behind the hotel was nice and quiet and easy to get to and from. The restaurant in the building was ok however the help there was great

Stunningly beautiful!
Staff, restaurants, bar and grounds were wonderful. The rooms were very small and the bathrooms are tiny. Resort $50 daily fee is high if not using their facilities on property (which we were not).

The location
The location¿s setting is stunning. Truly feel like you¿re immersed in the wilderness but a short drive to town. Lake is walkable, paths nearby but the best part was multiple animal encounters. Fire near office was super welcoming.

Size of rooms, a pool
There are many amenities provided by the Hotel but the one thing that really stood out was the Service. The Front Desk Staff, especially the Manager, went above and beyond to tend to our needs and requests and is a delightful human being.

I thought the lady managing the front desk was the only good thing about this hotel. It was a very stressful situation for her as the town located next door had been evacuated due to a wildfire. Us included. She had alot of frusterated people to deal with
Good location and price for our needs.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 60-90 days in advance for July-August or 3-6 months ahead for Christmas-New Year, Family Day long weekend, and major events like the Jasper Dark Sky Festival. Summer and event weeks can raise average daily rates by 20-40% at Jasper townsite hotels, with limited last-minute availability. Compare flexible and non-refundable options to match your plans.
- Accommodation rates include a 5% federal Goods and Services Tax (GST); Alberta does not charge a provincial sales tax. Confirm with your hotel if any additional Jasper tourism or accommodation levy applies for a complete price breakdown.
- Telus and Bell offer the widest LTE/5G coverage in Jasper and along the Icefields Parkway, while Rogers coverage is often weaker outside central areas. Download offline maps before travel and verify your carrier's coverage map for rural routes.
- Choose lodging based on drive times to attractions: Maligne Canyon is 10-15 minutes from Jasper townsite, Maligne Lake is 1-1.25 hours one way, and the Columbia Icefield/Athabasca Glacier is 1.5-2 hours south via the Icefields Parkway. Townsite hotels offer walkable access to dining and shops, while lodges on the Parkway allow for early departures to remote sites.
- Marmot Basin ski area is a 15-25 minute drive from Jasper townsite, and ski season typically runs from late November to mid-April. During long weekends and early first-track mornings, pre-book accommodation and check if shuttles or taxis are operating during your planned hours.
- Follow Parks Canada wildlife safety rules: do not leave food, scented items, or coolers in vehicles. Use hotel or park-provided bear-proof bins and secure waste containers to reduce wildlife incidents, especially near parking lots and campgrounds.
- Jasper Healthcare Centre handles emergency and primary care, but the nearest large hospitals are in the Edmonton area, about a 3.5-5 hour (350-450 km) drive away. If you have a serious health condition, check your travel insurance for med-evac or air ambulance coverage and be aware that 911 is the emergency number in Canada.
- Hotel loyalty programs can offer benefits. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge participates in Accor Live Limitless (ALL), letting guests use points for upgrades and perks. Most other Jasper hotels are independent; verify benefits directly if you are part of a chain program.
- Electric vehicle (EV) drivers should plan for limited public DC fast chargers in Jasper, which can be busy in summer. Top up in Hinton or Edson as needed, reserve property charging when available, and carry a Level-2 adapter for hotel lot charging. Ask the hotel front desk about the nearest public charger if onsite stations are full.
- Municipal tap water in Jasper meets provincial drinking water standards and is safe to drink. For backcountry trips, fill bottles at your hotel and follow Parks Canada guidance for treating stream or lake water.
